It wouldn’t bother Jon directly because he was already raised in that environment, but this was a hypothetical scenario where you can have a father present in the household. It’s been shown that children are statistically better off having a present father that can instill morals, values, and masculine traits into their sons. Jon doesn’t see the value because he never had it. So Jon picking money over that irreplaceable figure, was the reason why low was arguing

Even though it would be 10000% better to be raised with a present father it’s not hard to understand why someone wouldint care for someone that they had issues with being there. It’s 100% better if I had a father but if I resented him than you can’t be suprised that I wouldint care for him even though you are correct about it being better with him. I’m just annoyed why low couldint even pick up on the fact that jon felt some type of way on his father. Jon is right about his kids. That’s the right way to raise your kids. Your giving them a good life and teaching them the value of it. You forcing your son to struggle or feel uncomfortable is only going to push them away. Our goal as men should be to work our ass off to give our family specifically our kids a better life than we have to give them a head start that’s how you make sure your descendants don’t go through the struggles you go through.

The key thing in what you said is to give your kids a headstart in life cos a lot of us know life ain't fair so if you can help your kid whilst teaching them to value it then that's the ideal way. If they start to lose sight of its value THEN you discipline them. The only tricky part in this is knowing the balance between treating them with nice things and spoiling them cos everyone is different.

Jon was actually lowkey right about the punishment stuff cuz he said it depends on what the kid does. Like this one kid I saw online got in trouble for making fun of the poorer kids’ clothes at school, so his dad took his expensive clothes away and sent him to school in normal stuff. But if the kid got in trouble for starting fights and bullying other kids, a better punishment would have been to beat his ass. Cuz if he wants to try to fight smaller people, the dad would let him know that there’s always someone bigger. Or if the kid wasn’t doing homework cuz he was playing video games all night, the punishment would be to take away the video games

The punishment has to fit the crime! Can't punish your kid for bullying by taking their clothes away UNLESS they were bullying someone based off their clothes. It's especially so cos how many times have people had situations were you felt like your punishment had nothing to do with what you actually did?
