Today we continue our exploration of the Right Embankment of the Ishim river. At the end of the previous walk ( • Kazakhstan, Astana - W... ) we found ourselves standing on the Tulpar Bridge. The current walk starts across the road from that spot. The walk itself is quite short and devoid of any sights. Yes, this part of the Right Embankment doesn't have that many amusements, but sometimes I gravitate towards simpler pleasures: nothing calms the mind as effective as walking alongside the flowing water.
A short walk means a short description. There's really not much to say. So, just enjoy the summer and the river.
0:00 - Start of the walk. The first thing we see is a giant ball. It has a companion at the other side of the street, and we checked it already on our previous walk: • Kazakhstan, Astana - W... .
0:26 - Let's head under the bridge.
0:51 - "Sometimes I feel like I don't have a partner, Sometimes I feel like my only friend..."
2:19 - I distinctly remember, that there was an interesting statue here somewhere. A pair of lovers sitting on one of the benches. The reason I am so sure is that I walked near that statue a lot of times during the winter and it always gave me an eerie feeling, because the lovers were covered under the snow with just some parts sticking out. The whole thing reminded me of the Dyatlov Pass tragedy. That's why this statue is hard to forget. But I also believe, that it was present at least a month ago. Well, now it's not here. The day I arrived with the camera. Story of my life.
3:16 - Just love walking in such places!
4:17 - This land mass in the middle of the river is an island. Not much there yet, but it's developing. Probably, will be a nice part of the city some day.
10:05 - I encounter people like this guy way too often. They just ride bicycles, playing some music loudly (this one was relatively quite). Why do they think that we want to listen to their music right now? For me it is one of the biggest mysteries in the Universe. Or maybe it's just the same guy every time?
14:22 - So called Shestitrubka. The isthmus that connects the island to the main land. The river doesn't end here though. It flows through the pipes and continues on the other side of isthmus. But it's a walk for another time.
And now, my walk has ended...
The walk took place on 22 June 2024.
