They are indeed! Very few international tourists, mostly Kazakh people and few Russians. I loved the unspoiled part of traveling throughout Kazakhstan🇰🇿

Thank you, Luke, for this lovely video. I have just been to Lake Kolsai myself and can confirm everything you say. Beautiful landscapes. I recommend having a picture taken, complete with Kazach clothing, fur hat and... an amazing eagle!

Crazy how they’re probably like 30-40 years old but still run so well! Meanwhile cars in america breakdown after 10 years
@SB-ll3tp5 ай бұрын
They are not old, they are still produced in Russia. They are called UAZ. They are very simple in terms of engineering and that is why are used in remote areas like that. You can even find videos in KZbin from Japan when the enthusiasts from this country import these cars to Japan

They are quite cheap

Can we swim in Kolsay or Kaindy lake ? planning my trip to KZT next year :))
@LukeGeeTravelsАй бұрын
Unfortunately no, swimming is not allowed. You can rent a paddle boat on Kolsai Lakes though!

Hi Luke, how did you navigate? Did you use google maps or yandex? Thank you
@LukeGeeTravels4 ай бұрын
I rented a car and drove around using offline google maps. I would also recommend getting a local sim card. Also yes, Yandex, but they only accept CASH so make sure you have some with you

Can you drive yourself to Kolsay Lake( how are the roads there) or do you have to use one of those old cars for 20K KZT?
@LukeGeeTravels3 ай бұрын
You can drive to Kolsay Lake and the road is paved all the way. You will need to hire a driver for Lake Kaindy, the road is horrible and unless you have an offroad vehicle, you’ll have to pay one of the local drivers to take you there
