To me it is still the most artistic movie ever made!

there is a strong theme of existentialism in this film. Really enjoyed it.

Such a beautiful song and I was very happy to read that the late renegade director, Koji Wakamatsu, also loved and employed Tomokawa. It makes so much sense with Tomokowa's unruly voice! If you watch the credits for "Shinjuku Mad" (1970), with great jam music by Food Brain, here on KZbin, you'll see an obvious comparison with this clip!

The video is a little out-of-context. It's a scene from Takashi Miike's film "Izo." It's a very unique film that deals pretty heavily in themes of existentialism. It's a good one, but it takes a couple viewings at times. It's worth it though, in my opinion.

I don't know if my infos are right, i think those are parades from world war 2 : japan was expecting an american attack with chemical weapons, by doing this parade they were showing to population that they were organized to deal with that.
@IIMaRVII8 жыл бұрын
nah. its in Miyake-jima. Its a part of the Izu island. The reason for the gas masks is sulfur dioxide pollution, caused by a nearby volcano. Citizens and tourists always need to wear the masks as a safety measure and it is still like that to this day. Claudio Cappannari

Thanks, i was completely out of way then :) I tought of a demonstrative parade, because people on the sides of the road aren't wearing masks. Well, most likely it's a parade of their town , done elsewhere.
