This time, I interviewed @Thelinguist in 7 languages, which are Japanese, English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic. We had a brief conversation in each of them.
Mr. Steve, thank you so much again for your time.
I really appreciate this wonderful opportunity from the bottom of my heart. This was by far the best experience in my life.

Currently, I speak 9 languages, which I studied properly. These are English, Spanish, French, Arabic, Indonesian, Russian, Portuguese, and Hindi. Apart from that, I speak Japanese for sure, which is my mother tongue.
Furthermore, I know a tiny bit of Swedish, Polish, Turkish, Romanian, Farsi, Swahili, Tagalog, Burmese, Thai, and Bengali!
Of course, my skills of these languages are still far from sufficient.
The thing I value the most, however, is the attitude to trying to know their culture.
Interacting with people from different background is an eye-opening experience and that makes me really happy.
I wanna inspire people to learn different languages.

Confusing grammars and ways of saying certain things in certain languages won't be correct, but the most important thing is that the message goes through and like if I go to another country that speaks a language that is similar to portuguese... as the brazilians say, "não vou morrer de fome"

I agree that the most important thing when it comes to learning a new language is to be able to communicate. To be able to understand people and express yourself using that language. But I get amazed when I listen to a foreing guy speaking my language (wich is portuguese) almost perfectly. That's the reasos why I focus on pronunciation when it to comes to the languages I study. Natives most of time get impressed when you speak their languages without an accent. Of course you are not gonna be able to do that 100% of the time. But we can do that in topics that we know very well or in basics conversations.

I only speak one language, but I really resonated with Steve’s explanation of how to learn low frequency vocabulary, because I like learning new words in my own language. I listen for words that convey complex concepts and so forth so that I can increase the information density of my speaking. Then I try to use the word in everyday conversations as much as possible (which can take a fair bit of creativity). I do that for three days to a week until I feel like I will remember it at the frequency I will need it. Usually I limit myself to about three new words at a time so I can focus primarily on other pursuits at the same time. Hopefully, people can adapt this process to improve advanced vocabulary when learning languages.

It was a pleasure to watching this amazing video. Kazu and Steve are outstanding polyglots and I'd love to speak English confidently with no pressure and so many other languages in the future. I just followed you and Steve too because you and him are pretty talented at speaking languages and I think this epic featuring might inspire me a lot with my goals by learning and enjoying other languages and different cultures. 😊

Your french is great ! I usually hear people say they know how to speak french but actually don't. Yours is quite good even though the language is really hard. Let me know if you need any help with it. I'm on my part learning Japanese and Korean so I'm gonna be pretty busy haha^^ Wish you the best.

Intermediate plateau is so difficult to push through but reading books for teenagers, watching documentaries and listen to podcasts can help you encounter new words and expand yourself. Webtoons can be quite helpful too, and playing videogames in the target language to practice reading and context more organically. The more you can consume content for native speakers the more you can get yourself into the more advanced but it takes a few years. Once you start to get advanced it gets super fun again! Them finding fun content gets easier again.
