We've reached a point in the Star Wars "fandom" and I use that term very loosely, where people are just going to hate it just because. I'm honestly surprised I haven't heard that whole "SJWs trying to replace the Patriarchy" nonsense that we heard with the introduction of L3-37 in the Solo movie. I swear, some people just use a magnifying glass to look for things to be upset about. It's really extra stupid because in Star Wars (later subtitled "A New Hope" we had a "strong female character" by the name of Princess Leia Organa, yet no one complained about HER! And she literally lead the charge against the evil Galactic Empire! Maybe it's just me, but I don't have an issue with a "strong female character" so long as her character makes sense! Leia was a Senator from Alderaan, who also happened to be a high ranking member of the Rebellion. She didn't "fight against the Patriarchy", she fought against TYRANY! Mon Mothma was introduced in a similar way (fighting against tyranny). It's just insane how supposed "fans" get about some perceived slight in the "real world" when discussing a fantasy franchise. FFS, just ENJOY IT!

Natural defensive retaliation is indeed the main reason that the Tuskens have gotten such a infamous reputation. The chief had confided his almost defeated stance in stating without hesitation. "There is no way to stop said train." Implying that if Fett was not with them? They likely would have migrated away from the train's route to preserve their numbers within their own tribe. If said transport branched out into differing routes across the vast dune sea? Losses would cause other tribes (Some considered to be more inclined to outright attack encroachers etc.) to come together and counter the train the only way they would know how.. which against a machine of that nature and foreigners who are also infamous for being brutal and such? It would lead to many Tuskens loosing their lives. Boba not only outright returned said respect when he mainly acted in his own interest (After burning and climbing out of the Sarlacc Pit..) to defeat that dangerously butt ugly sand creature. He wasn't going to just lay down and die... Not to something like that. He has been through a hell of a lot of crap. It just so happened that a child was also in direct danger. He refused to give into the notion that the Tuskens were all that they were so often made out to be. He also likely would have taken into consideration that allying himself with one or perhaps even more tribes could strengthen his position as Daimyo. Ruling with respect extends to all. It could pave the way for some Tusken tribes to coexist with the various settlers that dwell within Mos Eisley and Mos Espa etc. One could ague that teaching them how to operate speeders could make them more dangerous. Yet it all comes down to the individual. One could decide to join a gang and be a huge pain in the ass. Yet, another could opt to use it to get to locations very quickly, carry really rare goods that they either make out of found items in the dunes to trade to others for valuable supplies to aid their own survival or even many of their own tribe members.... Tusken Traders.... I like the idea of that! They craft their Gaffi sticks with such attention to detail.... Imagine if they then began to make equally as impressive items that could range from weapons to bowls... and everything in between. Heating the sands they walk on into gems that could gain them quite the ideal reputation of traditional owners and nomads of Tatooine. I hope we see more of them in future chapters. 100%

The first episode was exactly what it needed to be. We needed some character explanation and some setup to know what we're dealing with. This is not the third season of The Mandalorian, so we can't just pick up and run with it. We needed some answers first (how did Boba survive the Sarlacc pit, what became of him afterwards). Remember, in this current timeline...there's been 5 years between Return of the Jedi and The Mandalorian. So the flashbacks are helping flesh out these missing 5 years. The first episode cranked started the car and let it idle for a few minutes. Now the second episode...we got first gear and the rest of the episode will be stronger and stronger as we go. For the people who didn't like the first episode, I would hazard to guess that those are the type of viewers who what instant gratification and if they're not hooked by the end of the first episode, then they immediately say the show sucks. I can't stand people like that...those that won't give a new show a chance to breath and grow.

If "The Mandalorian" was Star Wars' take on a "lone gunslinger" Western or "The Rifleman," then "The Book of Boba Fett" is basically their version of "Dances with Wolves" ("Dances with Banthas" maybe?) We're finally getting a detailed look at Tusken Raider culture and seeing them as more than just the "savages" they were portrayed as in the prequels and original trilogy. I wonder how people who watch this show first will now view the scene where Anakin slaughters an entire Tusken Raider village after seeing his mother die? The Tuskens really are Star Wars' version of Native Americans - and we learn in this series that while we've lumped them all as one big people in past films, the Raiders actually have several tribes, each with their own culture and strategy for surviving in the Dune Sea.

"They were let down by the first episode." Gee, there's a surprise. It's like there's a faction of SW viewers (whom I hesitate to call "fans") who are so entitled, who feel SW, Lucasfilm and Disney personally owe them instant gratification and nothing less than what their own expections have built up in their mind. How dare the first episode not be everything and more?! I mean it's the *first* episode. Relax. Enjoy it. Eventually you'll get to sit and watch all the chapters over and over. You'll see the entire story play out and will appreciate Chapter One. Seriously, you're already paying for Disney+, you're not shelling out money for a movie ticket. Let Jon and Dave tell their story their way. Have faith, people.

Hi Kazzy! I enjoyed the first chapter of this show, but chapter 2 is probably the best Star Wars I've seen in years! When I saw Tusken Raiders the first time in A New Hope I was about 4 years old, and they scared the crap out of me! Jumping up on Luke like that, lol. So I totally agree with you, I fricken love them now. So for people that don't like the Ewoks or the Gungans will definitely find a way more likeable civilization in the Sand People. I was so cut at that train, for all the unnecessary Bantha-cide! They never did nothing to antagonize nobody. Temura Morrison is killing it as Boba Fett! I could go on and on in detail about how cool every scene was in this, because for me, it gets a 10/10! Only about 12 hours till chapter 3 is released! I can't wait!❤️

Some of the people I've seen complaining about the show aren't happy about how The Mandalorian and this show are humanizing the Tusken Raiders. Yes, they were scary in A New Hope. We saw them from Luke's point of view and we didn't know anything about them yet. Yes, one of the tribes kidnapped and killed Anakin's mother in Attack of the Clones but those were the actions of only one tribe, not the entire people. The people who don't like these shows turning the Sand People into characters with more depth need to lighten up.

If there's one thing you can count on some Star Wars fans to be it's overly critical and very vocal about it. I think Fett started off even stronger than The Mandalorian did, which is saying something. Especially since I didn't have much of an opinion of him...I mean, dude got all of five minutes screen time in the originals. Really cool to see them developing his character alongside the Tuskens.
@matt_canon2 жыл бұрын
Whoever the hell doesn't like it...(granted everyone's entitled to their opinion)...the complaints I saw were how 'weak' Boba was in the first episode. He just got out of the Sarlacc, covered in stomach acid, (somehow dug his way UP through several meters of sand). It's mid-day on a desert planet with TWO suns overhead. No water. Dehydrated by the time the suns set, possibly malnourished. I don't even want to imagine how sunburned he would have been. I'm amazed he survived being dragged through the desert and still having the strength to take down the Goro looking monster. I'm assuming most of the haters have never been in a desert environment, (Vegas doesn't count...) and spend most of their time indoors with AC in the summer, and heat during the winter. I'll come at it another way. Take John Wick, "the one you send to kill the boogeyman", even he got his ass kicked in the first movie, when his car was stolen and sadly his puppy killed. One might wonder, how did Iosef and his thugs get the best of Wick? Ambush + Element of surprise. Same situation when Boba found himself surrounded on all sides by assassins with energy shields. Though Boba still got out of that one alive. Again, everyone's entitled to their opinion. Now the ones that hated the second episode. Well. There have been those that hate everything that gets the most praise from critics and fans, just to be edgy. (shrug) Whatever floats their boat.

3:58 (Why the mayor killed his own guy) -- Main reason is because he evidently ratted out the mayor, which makes him a traitor as he is supposed to refuse to talk under any circumstances. Second reason was to silence him so that the mayor could then deny involvement without the traitor possibly saying anything contradictory, or saying the mayor is lying. --That's if the mayor actually sent him. The Book Of Boba Fett; Chapter Two Easter Eggs ... That black furred Wookie is called Black Krrsantan - a bounty hunter from Star Wars comics Closely associated to Doctor Chelli Aphra - an archaelogist also from the comics. Praying that this female Indiana Jones character makes a live-action leap for the very first time! Actress Sophie Thatcher has been cast in an undisclosed role; your guess is as good as mine ... :) This Sophomore Episode is longer and way better than its Pilot. That train heist scene is reminiscent of so many spaghetti western armed robberies via horseback as well as “Lawrence Of Arabia”. These Tusken Raiders, spice, their surroundings, Pyke Syndicate oppression and way of life are synonymous with The Fremen from “DUNE”.
@oxhine2 жыл бұрын
Hey, Kazzy! Crazy theory. What if, in this year of "Dune", Fett will be shown to have consolidated all of the Tuskens into a unified force like Paul does with the Fremen and actually controls all of Tatooine already with his 'desert power'. He's keeping that in reserve adopting a 'speak softly but carry a big stick' policy with the Hutts and underbosses to see if he can assert control without unleashing the whirlwind. Should Plan A not bear fruit, he can always pull the trigger on worldwide revolution becoming King of Tatooine! This was the "Lawrence of Arabia" episode. Lol. Here's my take on EPISODE 2: Tight-lipped assassin sings like a canary with a Rancor fake-out! Boba's most formidable foe: bureaucratic civil servant at City Hall! Lol. Mayor Mok Shaiz is an Ithorian who denies hiring the Order of the Night Wind, pays for the bounty such an assassin is worth and casts suspicion on Madam Garsa. Mok Shaiz is voiced by ROBERT RODRIGUEZ! To be fair to the ravishing JENNIFER BEALS, anyone would work up a sweat on Mustafar or under the stern gaze of Fett. Legal claimants to the throne: twin cousins to Jabba the Hutt on a groaning litter and flanked by a mean-looking Wookiee! BLACK KRRSANTAN of the "Doctor Aphra" comics makes his live-action debut! Could DOC APHRA be next? That facial scar was the result of an encounter with OBI-WAN KENOBI's lightsaber in 10 BBY and both he and Boba were members of Jabba's retinue in 1 ABY. The rules of the Hutt-dominated underworld prohibit rub-outs without permission. Back in 4 ABY, the female Tusken trains Boba in the use of the gaffi stick. A rocket train skims the Dune Sea roaring like a KRAYT DRAGON and taking pot shots at potentially troublesome Tuskens! The heavy toll prompts Fett to act. The Nikto bikers rough-house the clientele at TOSCHE STATION, Luke's favorite hangout! LAZE and CAMIE, two of Luke's childhood friends from a DELETED "A NEW HOPE" SCENE, now married, are bullied! Fett puts his gaffi training to good use and clobbers the lot stealing their bikes! Cross-cultural exchange: Fett teaches the Tuskens the value of off-world tech and that they were 'BORN TO BE WILD!' Can't you hear the Steppenwolf soundtrack? EPIC HIGH-SPEED TRAIN HEIST! What's a Western without a good old fashioned train robbery? That gaffi stick sure comes in handy; we've seen it used as a Bantha toothbrush and now a train brake! The PYKE SYNDICATE from "Clone Wars" and "Solo" are transporting spice across Tatooine! Fett negotiates a Dune Sea tax for the Tuskens. In gratitude, the Tuskens give him a snoutful of lizard that has him trippin' balls and go on a VISIONQUEST! He has a vision of Tatooine's oceanic and arboreal past! He flashes on KAMINO, GEONOSIS and the SARLACC's gullet. He returns with a petrified piece of Tatooine flora, the hard wood from which gaffi sticks are fashioned. RITE OF PASSAGE complete, he is garbed in Tusken robes and carves his branch into a proper weapon under the supervision of the tribe's armorer and the female warrior. Now a bonafide tribe member, TEM shows the Tuskens how to raise the roof MAORI-STYLE! Lol. Boba Fett is the T.E. LAWRENCE OF TATOOINE! Loved the insight into Tusken culture! Dare I hope that A'SHARAD HETT, the Tusken Jedi and future Sith Lord, makes the canon cut now that BLACK KRRSANTAN is confirmed? Directed by Steph Green and written again by Jon Favreau.

Hello, Kazzy. Looking beautiful as always. Even though I thought the first chapter was quite pleasant, Chapter 2 was badass. I, as a casual Star Wars fan, have enjoyed how these Disney Plus shows portrayed the Tusken Raiders. I guarantee that there will be Tusken Raiders cosplay at the next fan convention or two. Also, that warrior Tusken Raider is played by the stunt double for Brie Larson ("Captain Marvel") & Gal Gadot ("Wonder Woman"). Also, the Mayor Boba talked to is voiced by overall series director Robert Rodriguez (he directed Episode 4 of Mandalorian Season 2 and From Dusk Till Dawn). He claims he didn't hire the assassin, but he's probably lying. The whole "Order of the Nightwind" assassins are new to Star Wars lore. That black Wookie is from the comic books, and his name is Black Krssantan. He and Boba have history together. Apparently, if you have seen Lawrence of Arabia or Dances with Wolves or The Last Samurai or James Cameron's Avatar, the flashback with the Tuskans is a direct reference to those films. Can't wait for Chapter 3 tomorrow (there's overall 7 episodes this season)!

I can understand why people would be underwhelmed by the Series Premiere. While I liked it, myself, I admit, I WAS a bit underwhelmed, myself. However, it DID provide a starting point, as well as some much-needed(and much-anticipated) answers as to how Boba escaped from The Sarlaac Pit, how he lost his armor, and what happened from there. The second episode made the Series Premiere make more sense, and justified the way they told the beginning of the story.

But once you understand how this show intercuts within the timeline of the Mandalorian both shows are even better. I find watching episodes 1-3 of the Book of Boba Fett. Folloed by episodes 1-5 of the Mandalorian. followed by episode 4 of the Book of Boba Fett then switch back to the mandalorian from episode 6 to the end of season 2 and finish the Bok of Boba Fett from episode 5 to 7.

As for the mayor, he killed the last assassin Boba Fett brought back to the mayor's office as a sort of a power play.
