KB Home Update 3: 60 Days Out!

We are right around where you're at in our build, in Florida with KB. We're "tentatively" scheduled to close at the end of May and we just were told about the garage door shortage possibly delaying the closing. Never in my life did I anticipate a garage door being the thing that makes our breaks a closing! I will tell you that once the drywall goes up...the interior stuff moves quick. In one week's time we had cabinets installed, paint on the exterior, paint on the exterior, interior doors installed and hardware on exterior doors! So once that drywall is up and ready to go...it'll feel more likely that it'll be done in the time you have left!

Wow, I hope they are able to keep your closing on schedule!! I know I never would've guessed garage doors would be an issue either. So glad to hear about the speed after drywall though, that is hugely comforting! Best wishes for you in your new home!

How was it getting your home to appraise? Was there an appraisal gap?

Our house actually appraised just fine, we had no issues!

Hi, I am currently Waiting for the studio date. My question is, before closing day, how many months are they asking for a bank account and other documents.Best wishes in your new home .🌹

Hi! Thank you! In our experience, we were going through the loan process during the same time we were doing our studio appointments, so if you've applied for the loan and they haven't asked you for bank info/documents yet, they probably will soon. In all it took about 35 days for us. Best wishes to you as well and congratulations!

Okay so we are about 60 days out but they couldn’t find our address so, very frustrating. It looks like we will also be going with our builders insurance for the time being. But I would have loved to shop around a bit.

Can provide some info on interest rate lock with KB lenders? Have you you locked your rate by any chance if yes at what rate ?

Hi sure! We did a 120 day lock because rates were increasing, we were able to lock around 4%. We do have higher closing costs due to buying down the rates as well, but we thought that was worth it.

We are in Ca building in New Mexico.. it is hard being so far away watching in pictures. We are not with KB but the process is the same :) Good luck. Cant wait to see how it turns out.

Congratulations! Yes the hardest part for us was definitely not being able to see the house in person as it was being built. I hope your process is going smoothly.
