No more Winchell's donuts in SF. In fact, by the time I started going into SF regularly, for both school and work, they were long gone, for what seems like since at least the very early 1990's. Sad. But at least one SF Winchell's location is forever immortalized............. in "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home" (ie. the 'double dumb-ass on you!' scene, in the FiDi).

There's some specuation that CBS and WarnerMedia are supposedly selling The CW. Everybody is expecting that the Nexstar Media Group would be the buyer, as they own the most CW affiliates, including WPIX (New York City, NY) and KTLA (Los Angeles, CA). The company also owns KRON-TV (currently a My Network TV affiliate). Well, if Nexstar decides to buy The CW, they will almost certainly move The CW to KRON-TV, making Channel 44 an independent station again and leaving the KBCW call letters meaningless. If the predictions above come true, it could mean the return of KBHK. Now, I got a question for those who grew up watching Channel 44, if the station returned to independence, what would you like to see the station do?
