Rather than the audience not understanding Jisu, it's more like not agreeing with her. I sympathise her as well, but the way she reacts is immature and selfish. Compare Jisu and her mother's reaction, versus Dogyeong's reaction. Yes, everyone is shocked and angry at first, but Dogyeong tries to understand Jian due to his love for her. If Jisu really loved Jian and put Jian before herself, she would listen first, rather than taking her anger at having been betrayed out on that slap and spitting out those spiteful words. Her character has always been quite flat and 2D since ep 1, and that's why many people do not empathise with her.

I personally think that Jisu has double standards in this drama. When she learned that Jian is going to the rich family, she kept saying that she shouldn't go there just because they have money and things like the poor parents are the ones who raised her but when she learned that she is the real daughter, she blames everyone saying that they sent Jian just so she could live in abundance. I was like, girl, did you forget the words you said to Jian when you were convincing her not to leave the house? Did she forget how she had a carefree life being loved by everyone while her other siblings are experiencing trouble dealing with life? I do symphatize with her but what Jian said after getting slapped was on point.

Jisu was raised like a baby so i get why she is the way she is but people here hating on her, i honestly don't get why? I mean i usually dislike such characters but she does have a good heart and for her, family has been everything! She has always adored Jian, her parents and brothers so ofcourse she's shocked! She would always go to Jian for advice and she doesn't know how to handle things on her own so she's doing whatever she feels right. I think sometimes we need to stop looking at things from a right and wrong perspective and focus on the characters and their thoughts! She's clearly broken and feels messed up, plus having your whole trust broken is hurtful and i don't think she's going overboard. And i don't hate jian, i love both the sisters but she should have told jisu atleast rather than waiting for the stupid 40th anniversary event and what not. I get that she was being considerate of the others involved but she could have told Jisu atleast and i'm sure she would have kept it all a secret! I love the sisters' bond so i really hate were the director is going with this angle! I don't want Jisu to turn all evil or anything :/
