The second concern just made me very frustrated. Like, man, I get that you've had a hard youth but how fkin dare you use that against your son like that? The whole time he was just talking about how hard his life's been, talking abt growing without a father and all but he HIMSELF had destroyed his relationship with his son and made his teen years just suffocating and hard. A good parent should consider their child's dreams and aspirations, not try to live through them. If the kid got tested with high stress levels, then shouldn't that be at least some kind of alarm. Why don't parents realize that actions like this can actually ruin their children??

I kind of understand that really, I know a father who does the same, but they are simply not as informed in child education as you for example, but they are good at heart, that when they're informed they start to take steps to change for the better. In the end the "change for the better" is the most important thing for the present and future of their children, because you can't change the past.

I'm training to be an mma fighter aswell, the training is tough especially once you're getting ready for a fight because you have to drop so much weight, i wouldn't know because i haven't fought but i know how it feels, even to the point were you have to dehydrate yourself a day or two before the weigh ins. I could relate so much to the second concern. My mom had a dream of learning something that she couldn't achieve in the past (because of the same reason the son's father had) and she forced me to achieve that dream. All the things that were mentioned in that concern was my concern too. Even when I go out to competitions and win, it doesn't make me happy a little bit. But just like him, I did it in order not to get hit. Even when I didn't smile for a bit in front of other people I would be scolded for an entire day and even the next day. It's not once or twice that I got hit with stiletto (high-heels) on the head, been thrown chairs at, cursed in front of other people including in school, around my friends, told that she didn't want me as a kid, told me i'm not important, beaten up in front of people until i bleed just because I don't want to wear a certain type of clothes that she want me to. I hold it in but I just couldn't let it pass when she hit my little brother too until his back bleeds. His back, ears, and arms were full of scars just like me a few years ago and so I decided to left home and study abroad. It's something painful and is still a painful memory for me. I hope that parents won't force their kids on doing something they couldn't do when they were younger just because of your own greed. Let your children live too.

It upset me a bit at how Korea is against Piercings and Tattoo's. People have to go to undercover tattooist's just to be able to get tattooed or get them outside of the country as they aren't really excepted and plus from a documentary I watched you have to be doctor to be a certified tattooist I believe. Its sad but that's just how their culture is

2nd concern is a good example of what Hello Counselor can do. When the dad had that 'aha!' moment, I knew they'd be fine. It's very easy to dismiss your children's emotions as whining but when you get to sit down and talk like this, you realize the sincerity of it. I also love how he said he doesn't know how he will change himself but he is willing to try. He knows it's going to be hard but he will do it for his son.

I never cried because of this show before but I did during the second concern. All Seokjun really wanted was some praise and freedom from his dad. He even said he probably would want to continue the training if he got that. When the dad scolded him after losses he would just apologize to his father. I mean, he got that good at a sport when he didn't even want to practice it, but he did it for his dad... And I can understand that feeling so well. You want your parents approval and praises and you want them to be proud of you. I crave this too, especially from my dad. This story just makes me so sad. I really hope they can get a better relationship with each other. The dad seemed to realize he had to change so I hope he does so.

His perspective on tarot cards is somewhat traditional. People usually think that those cards are used for future telling but most tarot books interpret the card readings as one's current disposition, how one sees her or his past, present and future, and that where the reader (should) give(s) an interpretation of the guidance and the advice the cards are telling. Most tarot books tell the interpretation of cards as psychoanalytic. It only means that the cards try to unfold someone's unconscious. i almost quit watching this episode because of how mad it was making me listening to all these people criticizing the last guy only because of his piercings. honestly I think he is the one who should be sitting down there because the ones who have a problem are the ones who dont want to allow himbe himself. He doesn't have a problem with people staring at him, or thinking he is weird. Instead, he is completely fine because that is just how he is, how he wants to be. I believe people that have prejudices against people who are different from them have the problem. If you are making the way another person lives their life YOUR problem and you care about that, it's not their fault, it's YOURS. it is YOUR decision whether you want to be disturbed by others preferences. The pierced guy is the one who is suffering from disrespect, and the fact that his family talks bad about piercings &tattoos IN FRONT of him is really disrespectful. We should all learn to accept that each one of us is different from each other, and embrace it. If you don't like it, don't do it, but just because you don't like it doesn't mean that others around you shouldn't do it either.

The 3rd concern really isn't an issue, but I guess it differs slightly depending on where you're from. My mom would feel the same way, but since I'm grown she'd give her two cents and then leave me be. I got my cartilage pierced when I was 13. Now I'm 18 with 2 tattoos and 7 piercings(ears only). I want more but because I really want to be a neurosurgeon I am holding back. I did go to school with someone who had multiple facial piercings plus her ears were stretched (tried that, but I gave up), she looked confident and cool so I understand the son.

okay ...........Seriously, parents should stop using their childhood deficiencies to put limitations on their kids. You were born in a poor family and could not afford to pursue your dream. That doesnt mean the son/daughter is responsible to carry it out unless he/she wants to whole heartedly. Diabetes ,high bp and cancer might be heriditary but dreams need not necessarily be. Let the child dream for himself and pursue them. He will fill in for all the limitations you had in your childhood as a gratitude for letting him live his life. oh ha I do think he's acting like a teenager as well but I think it's just going to pass, he's only in his early twenties. When he's going to start working for real he won't be able to keep them or only a few, eventually he'll stop using them. So far I believe that he's just going through a phase. He did say that he doesn't feel confident without them but I wouldn't go as far as saying he has inferioty complex (contradictory ? lol whatev). +blurryfrank Agreed. I think many people view tattoos and piercings (STILL) as things teens do to be rebellious, instead of an artistic outlet. I don't have any tattoos or piercings (besides my ears), but I can totally understand the appeal. I can't commit to getting a tattoo, but I'm planning on piercing my nose and lips (and maybe nippled yolo lmao). Seeing how he has so many piercings, I'm sure he knows the procedure and is hygienic about it. I have friends who've literally pierced their ears using needles, some ice, and some limes lmao If he's doing those complex piercings, he probably has the equipment and knowledge to do em. Septum and all those other places he pierces require piercing machines, so I'm sure he'll be fine. It's others that need to change lol

For the second concern, i can see where the parents stand considering their sons are really good at what they do esp the fact that they still win despite not loving what they do...imagine the potential if they actually love and are passionate about the sport...i just feel the dad needs to take a more encouraging role rather than a forceful one and his sons might actually not hate the sport that much...honestly i wld say that wld be better than giving up if you are good at it unless despite love and support you still hate it then yeahh giving up wld make sense but if not i think if he give up now he might regret it in the future...like i know many friends who actually wished their parents pushed them a little harder in not giving up sth they are good at esp when they advance higher in this society and realised how competitive this world is and that they realised that if a parent is willing to nurture sth you are good at..its actually a blessing (unless you really really hate it which i doubt is the case here since he stills excels in it) this is kind of similar yet contrasting to my siblings and I...we all had certain showing of talent but were never nurtured cos my parents only believed in education and scoring good results...now they regret it when they realised the world is filled with all-rounded individuals

Tbh, I felt conflicted during the second concern. The son wasn't happy and didn't want to continue kickboxing, but he had a talent for it. And of course, since the dad saw that his son was talented, he wanted his son to become a champion. But honestly, he shouldn't force it on his son. He's good at kickboxing, so the sport should become a hobby, but because his dad pushed him too far, and because there wasn't any compliments involved, he came to hate it. His dad should give up the dream of making his son a kickboxing champion, and look for someone who actually has the dream of wanting to become a kickboxing champ. I think that will work out better😊!

In the second concern, the father did a shitty job motivating his kid. He makes it look like he has to do this just to live the dream of his father, but he should be telling him to keep training because he has an amazing talent and praise him alot to make it more pleasing for him. That way he would start to like kickboxing more and relate kickboxing with sucess and getting praised, but now he just relates it with exhausting hours of training and his father being disappointed.

I didn’t think the piercings looked bad. But I’m an American. It’s normal for us as we are a more liberal society when it comes to body image. And if we are basing honest here, he could be way more extreme in his appearance. There are people around the world that are modified so heavily that they don’t look human anymore. Mom should be grateful to have her son, regardless of what he looks like. If he died the day after the shoot, she’d have felt like a fool for even making an issue out of it.

I don't see much concern with the 3rd conflict. Body Modification is a way of expressing yourself and I feel as though it isn't as popular in Korea. They're making his piercing a bigger deal than it actually is.

so GLAD that tarot guy was wrong about the voting results and miran's song not being in top 10 lol....even though he shouldn't let it dictate their life choices nor ignore her opinions, his belief shouldn't be teased...the son-father concern broke my heart but i'm so full of joy when the father broke down after what his son has said and says he'll try to change...for the piercings, it's good to have individuality but being obsessed is too far, especially when it can freak many/some people out (i admit i hate seeing people with piercings between their eyes)...i agree with yeongja about him to compromise on wearing [nude] stickers over his piercings when he meet his relatives and mom at holidays/gatherings out of respect and show it all during other days
