Totally agree that's why to me if would be wonderful if they have a psicologic in the show that could give his professional view and give some expert recomendations because i think like you that the brother needs some help to overcome the trauma because maybe in the surface we could think that is not a problem at all but to me it is.

As someone who has a younger sibling by 12 years i understand where the older brother is coming from! More than the younger brother, the truck accident traumatized the older brother more! If something like that happened to my sister and the doctors tell me its basically a miracle she is alive and can actually walk, i wouldn't let her out of my sight ever! His attachment could have been worse, it's actually mild in comparison! The need to tap and smell the younger brother are not there because he babies his brother but because he subconsciously needs to reassure himself his brother is fine and alive even after all these years! Same goes for the food restrictions and curfew and even his affection! The older brother feels like if he doesn't do this then something will happen to his brother again, it's an inherent fear caused by the trauma! It's not that easy for either of them, but the older brother needs to see a therapist and treat his trauma that was left as it is for so many years! If something even remotely dangerous happens to the younger brother again, the older brother will be in some serious mental distress that can cause a lot of damage! Mental problems are not a joke and should be treated accordingly! Especially trauma! Saying he is a perv or has homosexual tendencies towards his own brother isn't helping anyone and its just giving him more stress!

Although it is a bit excessive but also understandable as he almost lost his younger brother, I find it so charming when men aren't afraid to show affection and concern and be really involved instead of the stereotypical, usual brusque and distant manner expected of them.

Yeah but imagine if your parent did the same thing to you. You're an adult and they still have you restricted in such ways. It may be nice at first, but then you realize that you can't even get any privacy because of it. The younger brother is not only embarrassed but he's annoyed because he wants to become more independent. I think it's less about the fact of what other people think but about the younger brother's feelings as well.

@@azphine2681 I agree, I did say it’s a bit excessive. But it comes down to both trying to understand one another. The older brother can’t just turn off his worrying and caring for his younger brother, and I understand it makes it difficult for the younger one too. But when you’ve been through life changing experiences it takes a long time to recover and unlearn what soon becomes instinct. The two definitely need to do a lot of trying and talking to find a balance.

This sounds like trauma. He has an anxiety attached to his brother rather than an obsession, due to the accident. The smelling and constant need to see him is his way of coping. "If I know my brother is OK then I"m fine." Probably something like this. The responsibility thing is just a way to rationalize it.

YamiKazeSora I think you're right. I'm like that too but it's my mum lol. She got hospitalised on a number of occasions and my father and her family were all abusive. I don't smell her or show physical/verbal affection though cuz I wasn't raised in an affectionate family (I want to be affectionate though) I just check if she's breathing and I try to do everything for her.

i understand why the older brother become so over protective to his little brother. that accident for sure shocked the whole family. thanks to God that he's safe. this happened to my family too. I have a little brother who's 9 years younger than me. he had a car accident 6 months ago but he couldnt make it. that's why I understand what the older brother feels. I am not a s expressive as the older brother when I show my feeling to my brother, but for sure, I love him so much.

The older brother probably is the one raising him. The parent probably working whole time and he is with him whole time so he trait him like his son. I have younger brother who is five yrs younger than me. I don't touch him or anything though coz. I'm girl and he is a boy. When I got married my husband told me once that I trait him more like my son than younger brother. He probably don't notice tell no one told him. Hope he will adjust and let his brother stand his own feet.

My younger brother and sister are also very affectionate so things like rubbing their heads so they settle down, kissing them, and hugging them come naturally to me since I've spent (and still do spend) so much time caring for them since my mom is exceptionally busy with work and errands.

I have a bro who's 6 years older than me. He lives in a different state because he's working and he only comes back home during holidays. Tbh, he's very affectionate but he barely expresses his feelings with words. Instead, he's very clingy, like a koala and sometimes I got uncomfortable with him but actually I totally understand him. My late sister, who was a year younger than him died because of a serious illness and he doesn't want to lose me too. He took care of me when i was little since both of my parents were working. But I'm 19 now and his clinginess lessen but he's still affectionate :) From this story, I can see why the older brother cares and loves his brother so much. He was traumatised. He can't even handle another thought of losing his brother. He almost lost him once and it's a miracle that he's alive. He's scared that once he tears his attention apart from his brother, he'll end up losing him forever. But from the younger brother perspective, I actually think that as they get older, his hyung needs to lessen his clinginess because it makes him uncomfortable. Well, at least in public tho. If they're at home then it's alright, just don't don't anything weird like patting the butt inside the pants or poking the door lock with a chopstick just so he can sleep with him. Normal skinships like hugs and holding hands are still okay tho in my opinion. Just don't do it all the time. It can be frustrating 😂

tbh this kind of affectionate sibling like the brother is one of the best things in life. when the little brother is struggling with life problems etc in the future, he will be so thankful to have this kind of brother. it may look bothersome now, but he will miss him once he's not around. I understand the older brother because I went through the same experience with my little sister but she died... and I have so many regrets tbh, I regret that I didn't treat her better and I didn't show how much I love her... she was such an angel and sweet sister but I wasn't that affectionate type, I was rather cold and grumpy... I wish I expressed my love for her better when she's alive. I still miss her up till now and I won't forget her all my life.

I think the older brother is seriously traumatized by the little brother accident. In his mind his younger brother could’ve died that day. this is very interesting.. i also have a very strong bond with my sister, she's 16 years older than me. and she is like my mom already, she'd scold me and keep watch over me.. i dont think take offense from it though. even as i am an adult now...i still receive her reminders her sharp looks when she thinks i did something wrong... i dont mind all of it because that way i know that at least someone is there worrying about me. of course i also get mad and sometimes feel like im chained and i sometimes get overly confident thinking i can handle things since im an adult now.. but let me tell you.. when you're alone at some point and you feel very helpless...you'll get to realize that your going to be thankful for most of the reprimandings you've received...and maybe seek refuge from ur family again.. just be open minded. its just sad that the people around them mustve viewed their closeness as something pervy... i think it's all about trust with each other... nothing beats familial love. I agree with the trauma issue... those can really make you over do things since youve realized something important can easily be lost. hyung should trust his dongseng.. and dongseng should also you know keep his word. ... but hey they love each other. hope they will have each other's back in the future despite this.

I think he has anxiety from almost losing his brother. I Remember when my mom got into a car accident I would hug her,do everything for her (cooking and washing and making), and check if she drinks her medicine. I would also be very over protective whenever people would touch her (that seems aggressive). Also I would call her every 3 hours and at night check her breathing. I think he needs help like I did and come to terms that his brother is OKAY AND GOOD! He needs a hit of reality and move on! It might be hard but I'm sure he can do it.

I have 7 siblings. I only talk to 1 I haven't seen or spoke to the other 6 siblings in years. So to see the love he has for his brother is cute. I completely understand how the older brother feels. I nearly lost my younger brother in a car accident too. But what the older brother has to understand is that his brother has his own struggles with the memory. It's unhealthy to constantly remind him that he almost died because he'll start to relive that in his mind. It could actually put him in a depression. It's one thing to be affectionate and to reassure himself that his brother is alive and healthy, but it's another thing to live 14 years later as if the car accident was yesterday. The older brother needs to see a therapist to help him with unresolved trauma. He has to let his brother live. The more he shelters his brother, the harder it will be for the brother to do anything on his own. It's definitely a concern.

Trauma. I would know, seriously. It's the same thing with my best friend. Got into an accident, had surgery. The worst part was I was there when the accident happened. It still causes me so much pain, but I've gotten help. I relate to the brother quite a bit. Sometimes I call my best friend to reassure myself that she's still alive and well. At night I scratch myself as a distraction to stop thinking about her. I bled a lot, lol. I carry my trauma around, I know it's still there, but therapy really helped me. Saying that he's gay or pervy isn't helping at all, tbh.

He was really close with his younger brother and then he almost lose him he developed a trauma by that and now he just wants to protect him from everything which can hurt him. As a person who loves being affectionate it makes me quite happy to see the older brother act this way and i do understand where his coming from based on the informations he has given so i dont really see problem and i feel it is very heart warming to see an older brother act so affectionate. Although i understand why some people would find it cringy or wrong about the gropings and stuff but in some cases its normal and a way of affection like when you bite someone cause theyre so cute, biting hurts and stuff but it show that the person just wants to eat that person up. Like in my family we sometimes squeeze our butts and well we're cool with that and im ok with it cause its how i was raised. In this case, the older brother seems to be raised in that way too and after the accident and military departure, it must have done something. And im guessing that the younger brother didnt mean for him to stop completely but rather since he isnt comfortable with some of the ways the older brother shows affection, he should control himself and sometimes give him space. The older brother should adjust and realize that he shouldnt spoil his younger brother and start treating him like an adult though. Im sure they can grow together and still be affectionate sibling. They really do love each other and theyre going to make it through

My tutor is us teaching psychiatry nursing at school currently, to my understanding the elder brother is traumatized with the younger brother's accident because he was a bit grown at the time, he witness everything that happened to the brother including the pain the brother went through. He kind feel guilty " oh if I was with my brother, he wouldn't have gotten into the accident" . He tries to protect the brother and it has now become an obsession. I'm sure he will overcome it🙏

I never got a chance to feel how was elder brother and sister love, by this video I felt so jealous... I wish I would be in that younger brother place . It feel much secured. Those people who got more love and care, they even didn’t realized how much they are lucky.., try to asked those people who never feel love from their siblings. I was hospitalised for 2 months and I stayed at 3 hospitals during the covid pandemic. I constantly had super high fevers (40+⁰C) they suspected cancer, or lupus but they weren't sure. I had an abdominal infection and had surgery! At first I was just really grateful to be alive so I didn't realize that I had PTSD. Now I have nightmares all the time 😔😔

My brother is 13 but I can relate to this story, Wanting to protect him from everything It's like a parental urge to just baby and codding him but this has given me a new out-look for Now and When he gets older to show my love to him from a bit of a distance so its not to hard for him.
