As a riding member of Thoth I want to thank Talladega, TxSou and Langston for making our parade and Mardi Gras a successful one. You guys rocked the city. I particularly like the version of Do Whatcha Wanna by Langston. Hope to see all these great bands again next year. Happy Mardi Gras to these fine bands. Great job!

TxSU and Langston band came hard with it. Them T-Bones and B-Tones for TxSU came with it. I feel TxSU gave me a complete and balanced sound. Dega they are no surprise. But Langston somebody will sleep on them and get that work from them. Langston is my sleeper pick. They came to bring that heat. They want the smoke and all the smoke. SU better watch out there may be a changing of the guard

I did not like any part of this battle. It sounded as if each band played the same song, every round. The FAKE Southern just had Mr. Simmons standard high brass screams, That's exhausting and unpleasant. It appears that Simmons doesn't have the admin/creative experience to REVIVE TSU so he's jsut trying to create a FAKE Jukebox. I'm not a bandhead so I can't distinguish which band had the best musicians or best execution. As a listener, I would pay not to have to listen to any of those songs AGAIN. They lacked artistry, a beautiful sound, and I could not distinguish a single melody in any round...except for TSU's first song.

Simmons stated this is the “same Ocean with a new wave.” He never intended to turn this into southern. He’s actually paying respects to the Gibson era Ocean but just cleaning them up and working with the trumpets. They’ve always screamed just been outnumbered by lowerbrass. Listen to 2006 ocean. This is where the ocean is heading back to. You can say you don’t like anything without putting these kids down. Just in case you didn’t know.
