For Anfield Square, I want to see the club and Liverpool Council work together to build new terrace housing. They should use these new houses as an offer for people living on Skerries Road to move from their homes but still live local to Anfield. This could help get development of the SKD stand started.

I mentioned this on a Liverpool forum a year or so ago. One way or another, the Kenny and the Kop will eventually be redeveloped. They said the Main Stand and the Anny Road End were impossible, yet here we are with both done. The land is there to build housing for the residents of Skerries. I'm sure a new home and maybe a financial sweetener could see this be a good move for the current residents. Relocate the street, and there is room to redevelop the SKD stand.

I used to work in Malaysia and every year for a month, the air was filled with smoke from fires started by farmers. They were stared on Sumatra, the closest large Indonesian island to the Malay peninsula. It was ridiculous. It’s improved a lot, apparently, from the late 90’s to 2010 when I was there, but it still happens. All for Palm Oil, which is generally bad for your health, as it’s used in processed Ed food. But, it is cheap to produce at scale, for its versatility in processed food. Driving from the airport (the new one next to the F1 track), it was rows of stumpy palm trees for miles as far as you could see. All those endangered species habitat, like Orangutans and Tigers lost for cheap, crappy oil. Yet all we hear is we need to pay more for energy because some day, possibly, the average worldwide temperature may be 2°C warmer, but never about the fact vegetation grows faster, which absorbs the extra carbon that we emit. It’s called ‘Global Greening’, like when they pump C02 into greenhouses to get higher yields. So all this to say, F@ck Indonesia😅, and I’m glad he took them on and won👍🏽

Anfield Square should be used to place everything that is behind the current Kop. So the store, church, shops and pub all moved to that location to free up the space for the expansion!!!

The Kop is now the smallest stand at the ground which isn’t right. In order to expand this stand I would like to see the pub and church moved to the vacant site maybe with restaurants and a place to stay. Walton Breck Road could then be moved slightly to allow for the expansion.

Hi Kev, as you probably know that square is owned by the LCC and last year the City Council invited tenders for developing it, at that time the LCC said the preference was for a leisure development that would bring visitors into the Anfield area. The LCC refer to it as the Anfield Plaza by the way and stipulated that it should not be a residential development (housing or apartments) and the plan for a 'training hotel' for catering students was ruled out as well, that plans been shelved. At the same time the LCC announced they had granted planning permission for the smaller triangle of land opposite the club shop at the junction of Venmore street to be developed as a 'mini-mall' housing 12 retail and food outlets, that's been approved but the work on it hasn't started yet. Other plans the LCC have announced include the demolition of all the remaining boarded up properties at the opposite end of Walton Breck Road (opposite the Sandon towards Oakfield Road) to be demolished and replaced with more of the brick built road facing terraced properties they've already built there. It's all part of a 3 year plan the LCC have to upgrade and improve Walton Breck Road but personally I'd be surprised if it's all completed within 3 years! Related to that Andy Hughes (LFC's Stadium Managing Director) did say in a Q&A press briefing last year that the club have absolutely no plans to expand the Kop at this time but would review that when all the relevant LCC projects were completed. He did add when asked that the next phase of any Anfield Stadium development would focus on the SKD stand but that would be upgrading the concourses and lounges as opposed to a major expansion. The club have no intention of encroaching on the Skerries Road properties, we'll probably get more info on those plans when the Annie Road end is completed. PS: I'm speculating now but I'd expect that SKD upgrade to include some exterior improvements as well and it's quite possible that under the SGSA's minimum space ruling we might also need to reconfigure figure the original lower tier terracing, possibly remove some rows to comply with those minimum spacing requirements.

Anfield square :- This is a long shot, but if Liverpool could buy the property and build new homes to re-house the people that are at the moment living in Skerries rd. with beautifully fitted out modern houses next to thier previous nieghbours if required. A new home in the same area with people they know and a cash bonus thrown in would be very tempting. This would enable Liverpool to expand (phase 3) the Kenny Dalgliesh stand.

Personally I would like a hotel there and combine it with a railway station to make access easier . I would combine it with a redevelopment of the whole area, make Anfield somewhere that you can leave your car with confidence. I would grow the Kop into a massive wall of noise. I would make it huge and have a capacity greater than Dortmund yellow wall so 25k+. I would replicate the main stand at the SKD stand in increase the overall capacity to near 90k. The main thing is that with this development there needs to be a regeneration of the whole area

I think this will be the case, or certainly be the intention. Its the model all clubs are going for now - look at spurs Everton and city. Its important to keep fans in/around the stadium for as long as possible before and after games. Helps with fan experience, club revenue and city wide logistics/traffic. Its why Ineos are so keen to build Old Trafford new. Luckily for them they have alot of land to play with and a train track so can incorporate a transport hub, fan parks, industrial size pub, new megastore, museum, hotel etc.

Anfield needs mloads more parking space so whilst it might not look nice or be residential friendly a muti story car park for 8,000 cars would be useful but guess the road access would need to be improved. Id also love to see the Stanley park car park be built on and again a 8,000 spacr car park added there but again the roads aroundAnfield would need a upgrade..i cant see it happening as its not residential friendly or attractive. Whatever is done the Walton Breck Road needs a small reroute so we can expand the kop ideally adding a further 8,000 seats but again this would need big changes in the transport structures and roads around the hround snd probably would be a expensive job requiring lots of planning and Finance considerations The Kop though needs to be expanded upwards and be a mirror image in size of the Annie Road but just one bloody big single teir stand

I think a Hotel is probably the best option with the club having more and more concerts on there now, especially in the off season months it will help keep the revenue in. It should sell out every home game too with the amount of over seas fans we have. My out the box idea would be a sports/ leisure centre affordable to the locals in the area with indoor and outdoor courts, Cafe, bar, function room etc

As an outsider the first thing I can think of is a hotel for the complete Anfield experience but the priority has to be the community they have endured Anfield for all their lives traffic on match day fans constantly walking round with cameras rubbish blowing everywhere so I would say A Liverpool community hub for further education drop in citizens advice etc that the club can actually get involved in , indeed fund open on match days for maybe food refreshments by employees from the surrounding area with the profits going straight back into the centre those billionaires could surely afford that as a Thankyou and for peoples tolerance. The square original designs, were a plaza like shopping / eating out area. But in a more modern minimalist design, which i personally didn’t so much like but still it was something that was better than nothing - as it still is today… this was during the previous corrupt council unfortunately. But a traditional plaza with cobbled original streets that meet together, for everyone to dine and gather in the area, would be a great addition for the Anfield residents. It is already a good community, and would only add and benefit the social needs of the community. European style plaza. See what you can visualise Lad !

If someone wants a suburban Brookside Close style house... then they should live in the suburbs. Suburbia and a massive football club completely clash and harm each other massively. Anfield is an urban inner city area that needs to focus on visitors, football and events. With a little "Anfield Village" style heritage area surrounding that. The current "regen" has been an utter debacle, largely caused by Fat Joe and co being too pally with Keepmoat and the like. No wonder expert regen people walked away in disgust.

I'd like to see them use Anfield Square to relocate the Church and other properties opposite the Kop so that they can change the road layout and create space to expand the Kop. Picture the Main Stand as due North, imagine an L shape from Gilman Street i.e. the Club Shop straight down through the space between the Church and the Old Folks Home as far down as the Esso. Then extend Wylva Road out to meet it.

Well done Kev on sticking to your guns and winning the appeal. is it true the club owned the houses on Skerries at some point, if true they should of rented them out themselves untill such time the space was needed, big mistake if true. dont see any expansion of the SKD without atleast one side of the street, hopefully they can tidy the outside so it atleast matches the Annie and Main stands and also complete the block paving around the whole ground, i believe the inside of the SKD is pretty cramped so i would build the actual building back level the blocks that house the staircases, should not be a problem planning wise as it would not increase the stands height. im surprised a budget hotel chain has not build on that land already

I’ve heard that Liverpool did once own them, but sure how true it is. And yes the KDS is very cramped.

A hotel complex with public bars and restaurants....possibly with a casino. Generating substabtial income for the club and jobs for the area.

I think we’ll see the sign put up at the very end when everything is done, And then it will be put up and revealed when the stand is officially opened and there is a ceremony. Possibly with some naming rights too.

Anfield square - log flume or a go kart tracks (Klopp corner and shankley’s straight) . What about a mono rail track going round Anfield with the station at Anfield square.

On the square I would build a church, a pub and some shops. So that those behind the Kop can move over and make some room for expansion of the most important stand in our ground

Re Anfield Square development, there is a desperate need fir some modern hospitality facilities near the ground. In particular a restaurant and bar, plus hotel. YNWA
