KC-135 Aerial Refueling F-16s 29 May 2014

Shot on my new GoPro HD Hero3+ in 2.7k 30fps.
On May 29th, 2014, 13 cadets from Omaha Composite Squadron CAP went on an Air National Guard aerial refueling mission in a KC-135 Stratotanker. We refueled two F-16 Fighting Falcons. Each F-16 filled up halfway, then took turns so everyone got to watch them refuel. We flew over South Dakota at 21,000 feet and about 440kt (506mph) most of the flight. Flight went great, we flew back to the base through some broken cloud cover and landed.
Special thanks to the boom operators for making this video possible, especially Sgt Krotz, who ran the camera for me during the entire refueling process, as well as filming the takeoff and landing.

Dude this is one of the top 2 or 3 best things my squadron has ever been able to do :D I helped get the ball rolling for this one back in March and to be a part of it when it finally came together was just awesome.

Haha thanks. The storm was nasty here, no hail though so that was good. Started out with some high winds, then lots of heavy rain from about 7pm to 1am. I was out kayaking with my family when the storm cell showed up and we high-tailed it out of there. That cell was scary too. Got some great pics of it and you could tell it had 75+ mph winds inside. It was smooth and rounded out near the top, almost a perfect dome. Saw a few mammatus formations and even a few swirls right over the house. The wall cloud underneath it was almost a dark bluish green.

Wow - you know you got some serious energy when the mammaties show up! Did you get some good pics - i need to see them! One of my best friends is Don Lemon (from CNN) and i was on the phone with him talking about my upcoming trip to NYC next week and he said..."eh...chris you better flip on CNN" almost crapped myself when I saw that it was Breaking News!
