Nice, my first 135 ride was with the Maineiacs back in 96 when they brought a bird out to Kadena. We ended up refueling one of our MC-130Hs headed to AK. While I was sitting alert in Iceland back in 04 they would do the lobster runs for us when swapping out tails. Being from Maine I was made the POC for the 94th FS and cook. Keep up the great work!

Those KC-135's have been in service since 1957 and still going strong with the new engines which was installed on them. I remember them from my time in the Air Force, both during and after the Vietnam War. It was nice to see both them and the B-52D model bombers come home from their refueling missions safely.

Is it so that USAF has bought 179 KC-46, to add to the KC-135 or replace it? Does anyone knows how many cycles and TT the KC-135 have? They look brand new to me. Greetings from Norway. Btw I had a ground school flight instructor by the name of Dwight E. Roach a former KC-135 pilot. He told us tons of stories, all true. He was flying for Braniff, but quit after a pilot conflict in late 50s or 60s. The he flew the fuel truck for some 30 yrs.

Look up EAA chapters in your state. EAA brings together all who love aviation, whether they are pilots or not. Many will offer you an airplane ride and tips to get started. Eaa's chapters are in every state. They are very welcoming and usually meet once a month or more.
