Cool VW bus, thanks for the ride. A couple friends and I drove a bus, not the 21 window, from San Francisco to Syracuse NY through snow storms in the plains states. It was a "drive-away" car where the owner hires the drive-away company and they advertise for drivers who just want to get somewhere, no payment at all. We dropped it off in Syracuse and took a bus to NYC where we lived for 2 months. This was in 1962. Lots of fun, that trip was. Cheers.

I had a 64 VW camper model with the detachable tent. Great car. This one is more upgraded with a built in clock and back up lights. I think Anna brings a more upbeat vibe to your videos!

I'm a HUGE fan of all things VW and can't thank you enough for filming this video with that '67. What an iconic blast from the past. Thanks Kyle!

Love this. Brings back memories, had 3 beetles, 1 super beetle a dune buggy and a bus. Yes I’m old (78) but now driving a 20 year old GMC pickup and a Tesla. Thanks for the video.

Barbara - I can identify with your experience. I learned to drive on a red and white Volkswagen Microbus as a 15 year old high schooler down in southern Mississippi. It probably had 40 of the original 50hp and could almost reach 60mph if you had a little bit of a downhill and maybe a slight tailwind. But it would tow and launch a dual motor speedboat on a heavy homebuilt structural steel trailer. Nowadays I drive a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee (to tow my 20’ boat) and, like you, a Tesla for my daily driver.

1967 VW This would be the Year of my birth. Nice Car. So simple. And i like the sound of the Boxer engine. It is unique. My Granspa and my Pa both drove the VW Käfer 1202 (Beetle) My Grandpa allowed me to drive it when i was 12. (On a privat Way of course). Will not forget this.

I have also driven this bus, albeit for only a few minutes while it was on one of the Border to Border Treffens that VW used to sponsor. It was great hanging out with you and Anna at VW’s hospitality tent. Amelia was great, wasn’t it?

@KyleConner Was this unit a 6 volt or 12 volt system? My 67 VW bug was the first year of 12 volts, my 66 VW had the 6 volt system. Beautiful rig!! I also had a 69 VW Bus when I first got married and we drove all over California with it and also used it as our camper van. Fun times.

OMG,,,, next time open the safari’s and the sunroof and a couple side windows if they let you,,,,double the fun when it’s warm and slow to medium speeds. 23 window is worth more than 21 and walk thru front seats are more$ too. Audi E-Tron was in the DAKAR, hybrid but nice!

You drove behind a orange 914, the VW Porsche and didn’t say a word about it. 🤓

I now you misspoke you meant to say Corrado instead of a Scirocco great van they are very expensive now the 21 windows especially in this kind of condition.

It is a 67 model. Has back up lights. A 64 would not have these
