I'm in the market for either one of these. I have watched every video, read every report, I have driven both cars in glorious sunshine and pouring rain, on motorways, back roads and city centres. The Lotus looks the best and from outside, sounds the best outside, but I am still not sure I could put up with the super charger whine on a long trip, but it does have the best ride quality and steering. The Porsche sounds great from inside, has the best engine, has the best interior but sometimes feels a bit too stiff for some UK roads and will definitly have the better residual value, even with high miles that mine will do. I have been at this now for 3 months and stll cannot make up my mind, but I think that I might buy the Lotus or maybe the Porsche if I don't buy the Lotus or the Porsche.

Perhaps, you can make a video of all the cars you would buy instead of the Cullinan with the $600,000?

I'm an admitted 911 snob, but these are both truly great and BEAUTIFUL cars... If 911's never existed I'd be very happy with either of these... Great review LONG LIVE THE MANUALS!!!

Lotuses aren’t exactly reliable, dealers are almost impossible to find, parts are not easy etc. The Porsche is the clear winner and that would be the GTS 4.0

Owned a 06 e53 x5 for coming up 3 years and honestly can't fault it. Taking me all over UK and a trip across France last year. For handles and window regs have so far survived. No issues whatsoever. Serviced and maintained, new pads and discs last year, new tyres this year. It holds the road beautifully, a real pleasure to drive and man I've packed some equipment in it on camping trips. It just seems to swallow anything you put in it. Perfect family car if you ask me. No plans to sell any time soon. Keep that X5 rolling 🤟

You should have at least drove a msport of the 40i because it actually comes with sport plus and it makes a huge difference not to mention the aesthetics being the best and bigger sportier wheels 😂 I had a f25 x3 and it feels the same size as my current 2020 g05 and I drove it every single day…I love and miss it but clearly my new x5 is leagues ahead 😮💨

12:39 Kyle: "everything in comfort-🫨😐, just to see how it does, 😮💨" My man's getting ragdolled by the car. On the highway. In comfort. I think it's safe to say, if the car is fast, doesn't loose class with a tight suspension.

I cant stand the incompetence in this. That small little thing is never enough to batteries that are this dead.Let a normal jumpcable charge the 12v for 30 mins and youre good to go. The leaf aint dead. You are just very limited on solutions... Even with your electric vehicle you could have charged the 12v in the freezing cold. You could have everything in one video.

The e53 age well other than the transmissions need attention like all autos of the era as well as full poly bushing upgrade is my recommendation while you refresh the cooling system. I’m at 275k miles with no error lights on the dash and yeah I’ve hit a deer by now and it drove away from it actually whereas more modern cars would be totaled from that I promise

I got a 2004 X5 3.0 for free a year ago. Owner got too old to drive and gave it to me. 1 owner grocery getter with 125k miles no issues other than a minor oil leak which i fixed. Picked up a fully loaded 2008 4.8i just recently as well. I have a 2018 M4, 2018 X3 and a 2006 X3 as well. My car collection when from being all japanese to all german. Still have my 98 Integra GSR though. BMW makes great cars as long as you're willing to learn how to maintain and take care of them.

another huge selling point of the 4cyl is the tuning option. ive had vws since i started driving 20 years ago. a stage 1 tune is amazing and requires no hardware. just an ecu flash. and brings the atlas from 230hp to about 300.

Having briefly driven the i5 M50 some of the handling seems familiar here and notably the rear wheel steer allows for stupid tight u turns for a car this big. Now obviously all the “waiter-flourishes-hands-drama” of the combustion drivetrain is missing there. But with BMW’s Hans Zimmer soundtracks they attempt to cyborg the engine sound in the BEV’s interior. Overall iX is more compelling for most people but i5/M5 is a car for the journey and not merely the destination.
