I read that drivers can lease Z-Trip company vehicles for $160.00 a day; driver's have to pay for gas as well. Seems to me, that you are taking a financial risk on that end. Also; the companies vehicles should be equipped with a bullet proof partition. Many taxi services across the country have had those for decades. You are always taking a chance, picking up strangers. I pray that the driver recovers 🙏.

Also..... For crimes like this, and for insurance purposes, company vehicles and personal vehicles used by driver's should be required to be equipped with cameras that cover all angles. At least, maybe, they could have gotten images of the shooter. KCMO is a cess•pool of crime. It was when I lived there ( I moved away 20 yrs. ago ); sure it's even worse now.... 😕

as a Northeast Resident i am baffled by these two stating that the area is/was safe. Pushing the responsibility back on residents is the exact reason how things got so aggressive down here anyway. "No one is coming to help you, so help yourself" mentality is what makes residents so paranoid and shut-in. PD needs to take NE seriously to ease residential paranoia and lack of engagement. People will continue to get robbed/shot/jumped in this area as long as the city ignores it.

The para transit system has been a tremendous resource for citizens that have no other way of getting around.The drivers are usually very professional. We cannot allow the ongoing takeover of this city by criminals. A much more effective police response needs to be taken.
