I'm so glad this group is playing music again. Now another generation (my kids!) can appreciate.

Don´t force them to like your stuff now. Let them appreciate it on their own. Later, they'll remember you whenever they hear these songs. Most likely in a melancholic way.

I'm a relatively new convert to Slowdive, I've been a fan since their 2017 album. I went through their entire discography a few years back and they were so ahead of their time, glad they're finally resonating with younger listeners in recent years. I'm beyond excited to see them in DC!

Went to watch them live a few days ago, WOW. If you've never understood "wall of sound" go see them live. Slowdive builds their sonic goodness behind a dam, and when full, unleash it all at once on the audience in a deluge of sound. It reverbed off every nook and cranny of the venue and was just inescapable. You just have to laugh manically when it happens.
@massgrave8x6 ай бұрын
saw them a few nights ago as well and felt the same, at the first crescendo of their set I found myself overwhelmed and grinning ear to ear. massive as ever.

I completely understood when I watched David Gilmour in 2016 play the intro and outros to one of his Pink Floyd songs. I have been on the lookout for PF cover versions and I have to say that it although it was a Syd Barrett solo track, their version of “Golden Hair” is one of those definitive 90’s UK tracks speaking as a Hoosier yankee. Not withstanding the amount of incredible original material this band produced, which was as important to me at 18 as Pink Floyd were at 13. Souvlaki is a masterpiece of British rock and to hear their reverberations in today’s music warms an old cynic like me.

Brought girlfriend to see them in London approx 10 years ago, and when that wall of sound came up, I put both my hands out as to feel the wall, embracing and preparing to suffer permanent hearing loss. That's when I noticed the girlfriend running out of the hall to safety but tbh I couldn't care less.
