At 14:01 why do I hear a general signals type 1 ebell?

Because you do. General Signals started producing e-bells as soon as 1992, and KCS was an early adopter of them (I think UP was as well), though most railroads didn't start using electronic bells until the late 1990s/early 2000s. EDIT: There's also a good chance you're hearing some of those mysterious (though possibly early ASC) "square e-bells", which appears they actually are once the camera pans over to the crossing at 15:38.

Can I ask what equipment you used to record this? Quality seems to be much better than Hi8 or VHS, or you have an awesome analog to digital transfer process.

This was shot on Hi8 and digitized/upscaled in a manner very similar to this video, but I have an ATI capture device: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ_ChXeXbt-MZ8U

Great link, Thanks! I've been pulling my hair out lately trying to find a better process or company. It was only after upgrading my computer that I realized how bad my transfers look. BTW are those TOFC cars at Sallisaw? Looks like Siloam Springs there at the end.

Always noticed something about some video cameras from the 90s. Quality wasn't always the greatest but all the footage appears to be 60fps before it was a thing. At 4:00 , was that a storm blowing in?

I upconvert my footage for KZbin in a manner similar to this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ_ChXeXbt-MZ8U

These might some of the camera original clips, yes.
