Great video Andrew---and don't worry about all the complainers on the Flex forum. This is just one of the reasons after owning Flex radios for 10 years I now have a Anan rig and will never look back. If you are really into audio the Anan software is built around it and far exceeds anything on the current market. Good job Andrew-----73 Larry

It will work, but I like to still run the physical connection. I sometimes use my mic on video calls. lol

@@F41Driver Yes you right Andrew. Even me , I using the virtual audio capability on my side since many year already in the same physical way and i don't use the VAC either just to save 1 more cable. Since a few year i use a virtual audio rack with my Flex 5000A and use a Firewire Roland FA-66 Edirol external sound card and that work extremly great without any latency .

Enjoyed the video. It looks like the cloud lifter is a mic preamp, but the ur22 also has mic preamps as well? Is that the case? If so, why dual mic preamps?

I found that the preamp built into the Steinberg wasn’t sufficient for the dynamic mic. It puts phantom power out for either a condenser mic or an external preamp for dynamics.

The output from the computer is that going into the Digital interface then to the XLR on the flex?

Yes sir. XLR from mic to Cloud Lifter preamp, XLR from preamp to interface, USB connects the interface to the computer, TRS from interface to radio.

Why does it piss you off? The bands are not crowded, there’s plenty of room and I never QRM anyone in my passband.

@@F41Driver most people will and do. i have people frequently 5 khz away from my conversations 7 or 8 wide and refuse to tighten up their pass band so they dont interfere with my qso. and con testers, dont get me started!

sirmordrede I’m not one of those guys. If I’m unknowingly intruding on another conversation’s frequency and someone tells me, I tighten it up or move. Also, contesters do just pull up wherever and go for it, and many don’t care if they’re intruding or not, but I don’t have an issue with contesting itself.
