"Super Vocal" is a TV competition between bel canto and musical singers of China. Li Qi , who weared dark outfit, was the winner " Good Voice of China" in 2013, while Hua Chenyu won the Super Boy. As both of them were champions of the most important anual music competitions, they cooperated performaces in the Chinese New Year Spring Festeval of the CCTV, the most popular TV show in China that year.

This was clearly inspired by the approach that Disturbed took on the song but they re-arranged for three parts with beautiful harmonies. The three singers did a fantastic job blending their voices and delivered what was one of the most impressive performances of the show. Just amazing!!!

This is one of my favourite songs of all times by Simon and Garfunkel and them three delivered an epic performance there. I actually watched all episodes of Super Vocal about 3 times already. It has complicated rules (like most Chinese competition shows 😉). With the show they wanted to make belcanto (opera) and musical singing more popular in China. I heard some awesome singers. Elvis Wang Xi in the middle you can find on Spotify. I always listen to him to go sleep because his voice is so soothing. Unfortunately I don't know a thing about the other two.

Thanks for your reaction!!! Super Vocal is really a great show with 36 artists, they included famous pop singer, musical actor, opera actor, and music major student. The show at least pick up 6 of them to become the chief and win the chance to national tour& released an album. The most impression is that there have no competitive atmosphere, even though the show had finished almost a year, their brotherhood and friendship are still deep, and also with their fans. You are so lucky that the fans-group had just finished their ENG translation about the whole show(season one), you could find them at youtube. Official film have two version, cutted and longer, it’s a pity that only the cutted and some longer version have the ENG translation, because the official does not have permission to edit subtitles for some longer version. But it is still good for watching. (Some title do not has”ENG”, but it indeed has the translate, you can try and found if they has or not) After solo and trio, I want to recommend the duet “The phantom of the opera” by A Yun Ga (阿雲嘎)and Zheng Yun Long(鄭雲龍), they are both musical actor, classmate and roommate when they are in college. Hi guys, watched your videos by KZbin recommendations and I have noticed that you 2 kept mentioning about the lack of informations about those 2 artiest, here are a little bit informations hope that helps Li (surname) Qi (given name) was once a champion of voice of China a few years ago, after that he has basically still been making music and attending many musical tv shows. Qi plays the high pitch harmony in this song. Ju (surname) hongchuan (given name) was once a annual final champion of avenue of stars which is one of the biggest music competition in China. He has a American girl friend although they keep claiming that they are just friends or music partners or soul mates or whatever, but he pretty much takes her everywhere to the shows. He plays the middle range harmony in this song. By the way, you should start watching super vocal season 2 already, it’s now about 7 or 8 episode now and it’s even better and crazier. Domingo’s student is in there so there you go.

Wang Xi is the middle one, and only Wang Xi you can find on Wikipedia. Li Qi (the right one) is a pop singer and he is the champion of "Sing! China 2013". Ju Hongchuan is the left one and he is from Urumchi, XinJiang China. He is not very famous before the show. He graduated from The Central Conservatory of Music and start his career in 2013, he also participate some singing competition show before Super Vocal. In my opinion, Ju Hongchuan is under rated. @@KDarlings competition is fierce and the judges are hard to please. It's a good competition to watch. Second season is out but the television network is only showing bits and not the whole episodes. They usually upload the first season to lure viewers and second season is on the paying channels. 😲😣😝

Like you Southern Belles, I also love this exquisitely harmonized rendition of SOS; also their Singing English were fairly accurate, for non-native speakers. (I am American.) I STRONGLY FELT the judges were playing "favorites", which explained why this version "lost". I humbly suggest you also watch - "Grande Amore" by Cai Cheng Yu + Ma Jia, esp if you are into Italian. (epi 3) - "Time to Say Goodbye" by Zhou Shen, who is a natural counter-tenor. (epi 2) Zhou Shen also brilliantly sang "Memory" from Broadway's "Cats", but he made it his own by prefacing the song with the melody from "La Vie En Rose" + for the latter part of the song, writing his own Chinese Lyrics, which I find immensely more poetic, than the Andrew Lloyd-Webber ones. Obviously, you can view all 3 songs, just by typing in the Song Name + the singers. ENJOY.
