I love that you're sharing this, I have also had the same issue. Only in my case, I would cut the two points like you did, And then right click in the space between the two and there is a feature to remove that white space between the two clips. But your solution is even more elegant than that. I'm so happy I discovered your channel.

There is a faster way: hit "I" to mark start point on axis, then hit "O" to mark end on axis, then use "Extract range on axis" (by default Shift + X). Done! :)
