I think increasing the quality and toughness of state board exams to the level of cbse exams should be more than enough. I think keeping the ratio of 12th mark and keam mark 50:50 is a very good system. The only problem is the correction for mark for the state board students which can be fixed by increasing the quality of state exams and education

ആദ്യം KEAM score മാത്രം നോക്കിയാണ് കേരള സർക്കാർ എഞ്ചിനീറിങ്ങിന് പ്രവേശനം നൽകിയിരുന്നത്. അപ്പോൾ CBSE കുട്ടികൾക്കായിരുന്നു ബഹുഭൂരിഭാഗം റാങ്കും കിട്ടിയിരുന്നത്. CBSE കുട്ടികളെ പുറത്താക്കാൻ വേണ്ടിയായിരുന്നു 2016ൽ കേരള സർക്കാർ KEAM score + പ്ലസ്‌ 2 PCM സ്കോർ കൊണ്ടുവന്നത് . പക്ഷെ CBSE കുട്ടികൾ കോടതിയിൽ പോയി. വ്യത്യസ്ഥ ബോർഡുകൾ ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ Normalization വേണമെന്ന് കോടതി പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങിനെയാണ് normalization തുടങ്ങിയത്. കേരളത്തിൽ Full mark കിട്ടുന്ന അനേകം പേർ ഉള്ളത് കൊണ്ട് normalized mark കുറയും. Normalization സൂത്രവാക്യം ലോകത്ത് മൊത്തമായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന ഏകീകൃത statistical method ആണ്. അതിനാൽ അതിൽ ഒരു മാറ്റവും വരുത്താൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല. തിരിച്ച് entrance score മാത്രം നോക്കുക എന്ന അവസ്ഥയിലേക്ക് തിരിച്ചുപോകുക എന്നത് മാത്രമേ മാർഗ്ഗമുള്ളൂ.

Well that's a new knowledge for me.anyway as you might have figured it out yourself the result would be almost same except for the repeaters(just like how it was before).the cbse and state passouts of the respective year will have high and low marks respectively resulting in high and low ranks.(entrance only).I think the only possible solution will be to increase the difficulty level of state boards then 1,maintain 50:50 system or 2,make it entrance only..

Majority of state students get good marks in pcm by giving grace marks. In 2022 pass out students there is no grace marks hence students get 8 marks additionally after standardization. Either avoid grace marks or consider only entrance mark is the only solution.

But ഫലം ഉണ്ടായില്ല. റാങ്ക് പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ചതിലും വളരെ താന്ന് പോയി. TKM കോളജിൽ പഠിക്കുക എന്ന വലിയ ഒരു aim നശിപ്പിച്ചത് ഈ സിസ്റ്റം ആണ്. CUET,NEET,JEE തുടങ്ങി ഒരു എക്സാമിനും ഇല്ലാത്ത സിസ്റ്റം എന്തിനാണ് KEAM ഇൽ? ഇനിയെങ്കിലും ഒഴിവാക്കിക്കൂടെ? KEAM Exam nu കിട്ടുന്ന സ്കോർ വെച്ച് റാങ്ക് list ഇടുക. അത് മാത്രം ആണ് solution.

There could be genuine cases where the kid(in state syllabus) is really brilliant and his/her marks are reduced due to normalization. But this is a problem for students from other boards too. For example, my cousin's son(CBSE) got 102 marks(87 percentile - expected close to 6700 rank) in Keam exam, but when the marks were added his final rank was ~10000 . For CBSE, getting 250-270 out of 300 is itself a challenge. Actually, students with less keam score and high +2 marks like 300/300(even if the normalized mark is ~284) gets benefited.

Sir I think normalisation is done by comparing +2 marks with keam score , students with better keam score tends to lose less marks in the standardisation process. ( because last time when I attended keam , me and my friend who had same +2 marks had different standardised scores , the one with better keam score lost less marks through standardisation ) Can you verify about this

There could be genuine cases where the kid(in state syllabus) is really brilliant and his/her marks are reduced due to normalization. But this is a problem for students from other boards too. For example, my cousin's son(CBSE) got 102 marks(87 percentile - expected close to 6700 rank) in Keam exam, but when the marks were added his final rank was ~10000 😥. For CBSE, getting 250-270 out of 300 is itself a challenge. Actually, students with less keam score and high +2 marks like 300/300(even if the normalized mark is ~284) gets benefited.
