You weren’t there in the spring but you should mention the Sandhill crane migration thru the Kearney-Grand Island area in Nebraska. Be sure to check out the Rowe Sanctuary, just east of Kearney. Located on the south bank of the Platte River, between early February to mid-April, some 300,000 to 500,000 cranes will stop over for a few weeks to feed. The cranes roost in the Platte River at night. Rowe has a blind for observing the cranes as they leave the Platte in the morning or return to the River at sunset. Truly amazing!

I have just started watching your channel. The few videos I have watched are just exactly the things I love. I live in Nebraska, and have my whole life. I have been through the arch three times and everyone have seen stuff I didn't the first time. Years ago we learned that the state of Nebraska is history rich. I have lived on the republican river my whole life. I have spent a ton of time up and down the Platte. Really look forward to your travels west. Thank you.

I watched your video earlier this year that spoke about pioneer village in Nebraska. My son is now at Air Force Base in Omaha Nebraska. We plan on taking our RV up there the summer 2023 to visit him. We just happened to watch American pickers tonight on the History channel. Guess what they had a complete show on pioneer village. There was over 20 quansum huts that they picked in and found all kinds of stuff. Apparently they picked the huts in 2022. Pioneer village was trying to raise additional money to renovate some stuff. They also had a online auction of a bunch of stuff they didn't need in the quantum huts in 2022. We thought about you all and your video when we saw the pickers tonight.

Loved your video excellent job. That is my home state, I retired in Ecuador so it was really cool to watch your video today. Frustrates me when people say Nebraska is a flyover state. They have no clue especially the northern part of that state absolutely stunning. Good job keep it up and stay safe on the road. By the way if you ever get to Paxton Nebraska stop at Olie's and eat. Best damn Rocky mountain oysters you'll ever have LOL.

If you're still in west neb, you got to get out to fort Robinson (real old and cool fort they also used in WW1 spec ops training, and horse rides are amazing there) and also, the buffalo run historical site & toadstool geological park -its surreal bc you're all of a sudden encroached by desert and what it prob looked like pre settlement. There's also a native American museum out that way somewhere that was neat. It'd be a short detour on the way to north CO or south WY or to that massive crystal cave in far west SD

Been to the Archway many times in my life. I used live in Kearney NE in the summer time in the 1990s with my sister and brother in law. My brother in law Shawn used the run all the bars in Kearney back in the 1990s he was like Dalton in the Roadhouse movie knew a lot about the bar business. He had a bouncer Curtis Harry who went to the 1994 winter Olympic games in Lillehammer Norway with the Trinidad and Tobago bobsled team. Like the movie Cool Running 1993 but in real life. My hometown of Sidney also had a Cabela's store in Kearney to. I suggest you visit Fort Robinson and Chadron State Parks in the panhandle of Nebraska and there is also Car Henge in Alliance Nebraska kind of like Stonehenge.

Next time you come through Nebraska you'll want to stop in Grand Island and go to Stuhr Museum. It's called the "Gem of the Prairie". They have a working town called Railroad Town. The time period is the 1890s. One of the houses on the property is where Henry Fonda was born. I believe it is open May through September. The main building is beautiful and was designed by Edward Durell Stone. It is open year round.

I am so glad that people are not passing thru Nebraska without discovering our history. We watch the arch being pulled across the interstate during building this magnificent museum. You must travel thru the Sandhills of Nebraska. They are the largest deposit of sand dunes in the a Western hemisphere. They are covered with grass, that is so rich, the cattle do not need supplement feeds. It may be dry, this year as they have not had much rain. Go north out of Kearney to highway 2 west. Gorgeous rolling hills. Enjoy!

Great video. I am a Nebraska native although I live in the Ozarks now. I always enjoy my return visits to Nebraska. Wish you could see the Bailey Yard in N Platte. Then go north to Ft Robinson, then a right turn thru the Sandhills. More history there than you can imagine. Take the Sandhills Scenic Byway. In Broken Bow there is a nice city owned campground that is very reasonable. I am 75 and went to Pioneer Village when I was about 10. Loved it. Back then, the carousel was steam powered and so was the popcorn machine. Glad they are putting effort into bringing that treasure back to its former glory.
