could we email instead? [e-mail] Trying to figure out what to change on a used FRM3 to be able to install and program it (program/flash is easy). Also if it is possible to change to LED bulbs/ remove the light test/check feature. I already got the VVDI prog hooked up but their FRM clip didn't work, so I soldered to it. Their tech service doesn't understand the difference from a CAS to a FRM

the repair is done with an Xprog, the connection with the board is done using a FRM clip! you can google it !

Nice video, do you need to disconnect the battery when doing this? I’m having the same issue and apparently I’m only having the issue because I disconnected and reconnected the battery while doing other work on the car.

Hello, the voltage fluctuations or and, in your case, battery disconnection can affect the module, is nothing that you can do better to prevent this

Hello, you don't need xprog to flash your FRM , you need istaP or winKFP and NCS to code , Xprog will be used only when the FRM will fail, and yes it's possible to be corrupted .

Thanks for the prompt reply. I have a 2010 BMW 116i and one the rear braking and parking lights are not working. The electrician told me that there was a problem with LCM and he needs to send it to another person to repair. Would you think they need to go through all the steps you have just explained or they just need to replace a couple of fuses?

Hello from Norway! Nice video by the way. I was wondering if you have any experience with the gws (gear selector switch) on e60? I have used winkfp to program my VIN to a used part, and by the way it worked fine with the VIN and zusb number from dodnor car. As I started programming the light in the gws is off and it is not working. I was using a k+d can cable and I was thinking that is the problem and not using Icom. Do you think that this could be repaired in the same way as the frm modules? Had some transmission problems and was thinking it was related to the gws having different VIN number that my car has. Probably I will get a used gws again and leave it as is to not have any problems like this because the car can not go into gear or move now 😔

@@MOvidiu No kidding so to me it looks like you wrote dflash into eeprom after deleting eeprom just wanted to confirm that, But. This was a simple question I always find myself downloading virgin files and then coding it. So that would be yes I write dflash into eeprom or xprog has virgin Files that writes it back, simple, you don't need to answer any questions, thank you for your time. I fixed a few but never the way you just did it looked easier than the way I do it but don't worry not everyone understands the process without a hint. Or a hint of don't bother watch the video well I did that's why I asked the stupid question, but I was always told that there is no stupid question. 😉

@@MOvidiu Thanks but no need I did watch your video I did see you got the the flash what I didn't understand was when you wrote it back to eeprom and what was written back was it all the dflash or did xprog choose the right data needed from it to write back that step was not clear to me and guess what, I watched that portion of the video a few times and could not get what part of the dflash xprog writes back is it the all dflash data or a portion of it I don't own xprog so I would not know about what xprog does to the file to write back to eeprom. Like I said before I normally dowload virgin files and code them by obd2 when done. But if this is a faster and easier way why not ask a stupid question. Some people might answer it and some might not. Not everyone is as knowledgeable as the other person and we all learn new things everyday. Thank you and have a great day. And yes you explain your videos nicely but it doesn't mean all the information is there. And obviously there are going to be positive and negative questions about it and if you don't like questions or comments then turn comments off and avoid it.
