Thanks a lot for this video. I have an E60 and installed a mirror from an e90 I think with the compass (reason why I bought it) and I thought the auto dimming function stopped working. Then I watched your video and I realized how the two light sensors work together, much smarter setup! Anyway, thanks for showing the pin info page, very useful.

La un model f46 i se poate conecta oglinda fotocromatica la vreun conector din plafon , fara a se face un circuit nou de alimentare!? Mulțumesc anticipat!

Salut! eu te-as sfatui sa faci acel retrofit corespunzator! si nu numai , daca te zgarcesti si faci improvizatii , o sa iti para rau mai tarziu! si posibil sa si apari la stiri cu titlul : un BMW a luat foc cand a semnalizat :D

Ok . Multumes pentru timpul acordat raspunsului la întrebarea mea. Intenția nu este de a face o improvizație cu sacrificii. De aceea am apelat la părerea unui profesionist. Văzând arnesul de cabluri ale oglinzi fotocromatice care se conectează la placa de circuite din plafon , de accea am întrebat. Crezând că opțiunea de oglinda fotocromatica este instalată preventiv !?

Hi, Can l retrofit auto dimming rear mirror to f20 using rain sensor power supply? As normal connector has 2 pins l have add 2 more wires in the connector for 12v and ground but can they be connected to rain sensor for power and ground?

Salut! Pai pentru alarma va trebui sa faci retrofit de alarma , pentru home link va trebui sa o alimentezi ! Foloseste Google.com si vei gasi foarte multe detalii pe forumuri ! Trebuie doar sa cauti ! Succes!

Salut, e posibil sa am antena pentru închiderea centralizată in interiorul oglinzii? Nu mai funcționează închiderea din cheie cu toate că cheia trimite semnal. Ajuta-ma te rog cu ceva sfaturi?! Mulțumesc

I want to mention that I have a mirror with autodim, alarm system, light sensor , and xenon assist, and rain sensor on my windscreen. this retrofit to compass with homelink will be plug and play? Hi. I know it's about the mirror. I have a question for you about the lighting of the door panels of the BMW E61 LCI. I bought a whole bunch of leds. If I connect the entire harness to the socket at the door hinges and turn on the lights, will it light up. I also thought about connecting the beam of the LEDs to the beam from the window switch. I would prefer to plug the plug into the body. Unless it's done differently. I'd like your help on this if you'd like. At the moment I have a regular beam without door side lighting.

Great video! Still a question. I have a 2004 E46 M3 with standard SOS mirror with dimming and LED. Replaced it for a regular dimming mirror with LED and found out that the dimming is one-time exercise and than it blown. After disconnecting wire 4, 5, 6 and 7 from female connector and a replacement the blown mirror it worked fine. Now i have a M3 mirror, and see that 4 + 6 and 5 + 7 are looped together in the female connector. Can it do any harm to connect it to the car? The mirror it self is save I believe. The SOS function isn't in use. Hope you can help me out! Tnx. Of course I can cut both loops and then I have what I have now with the regular mirror, but rather keep it untouched if possible.

This video is very good! I have a F07 and want to retrofit one with home link. My current mirror have EC/LED/FLA functions and I have a hard time finding one with home link/GTO since most of these mirror are from the USA and they use different frequencies for home link and also ignition key if I'm correct. Is it possible that you help me with the wiring diagram for the LCI F07? My car has currently has 6 wires in the connector in pin location 3,4,5,6,9,10. I found one mirror with 9 pins in the connector (except pin 2) but it didn't have FLA camera so I was a bit confused. I would really appreciate you help!

you are the best! very informative video - plain and simple. Based on your experience couple of hints if you don't mind: Do you know if will fit on e39 mounting mechanism on the windshield? RLS case still match? how about dimensions (compared to e39's) - roof sun blinds will still open and close as they normally do? How about the alarm clown nose - e39 is slightly different, not a big deal is just a led after all but I wonder if is possible to keep the original look I know e39 already have all these options (perhaps not compass and home link is separate on roof) but the problem is that e39 electrochromic mirrors usually leaks and rarely find a good one on sh due to the age most likely...

So greazt video ! we need more haha :) For the integreated remote control can we just replace our mirror without this function and install one like this one who have it and it will work ? i mean we just need to code it ? or it need another module in the car or somewhere else ? :) i for an E63 LCI of 2009 who have cic.What is the Compas ? is in same way just need an mirror with this option and just code it ? :)
