As a visitor you lose all sense of time and direction, have no idea where you are or how you got there. But Old Delhi is like that (I've been there). You get lost in an ocean of streets and people. I could practically smell it - the food, the incense, the rot, changing every moment, each minute a new set of sights, sounds, smells. This video captures a lot of that.....

OK let me tell you something : Why don't you go to kannaught place, delhi Why don't you go to gurgaon delhi Why don't you go to New Delhi Why don't you go to noida Why don't you go to south delhi. The problem is that when foreign people go to countries like usa and UK they don't show homeless people. When they go to Jakarta or bangkok they don't show slums, but when they come to India they go in such areas which is only a single area of Delhi. Im not a patriot like other Indians as such, but when someone shows my country like this. I want to say you should also see good places

People need to be got awareness about cleanliness and co-operation. No matter people are poor or rich. If they are clean definitely they will be developed and standard of living will be improved. But there are no sign of awareness message to the people in streets and roads. But who will initiate the move? Government and social organization have to be indulged to get in awareness among people by sign boards and through medias. Govt. Should ensure free and good footpath. Footpath encroachers should be strictly removed. People have to understand the need of cleanliness not only in home but also the surroundings of our nation.

We can not evaluate a city/society solely by GDP. There are many more factors and it is a complicated field of research. Even if people are proud of their life (which are not) it doesn't mean the city or the society are perfect or good. Their pride might be due to ignorance.

Interesting how rare the verbal interaction with passers-by. My experience in India is that someone approaches every five minutes or so if I move in a pedestrian fashion. The documentation photography on a surface sense allows for vicarious participation. However on a more profound sense its a view into a possible world. It allows for reflections on international relations and the developing world.

Old Delhi Chandni Chowk MashaAllah !! Don't be fooled by the chaos, congestion and crowd, this is the oldest wholesale market in the country, perhaps, in Asia. The traders and merchants are mostly millionaires, they provide employment to several people who have migrated from the suburbs. These traders own plush cars and bungalows in the city center (worth 100 millions)and many present day billionaires, film stars have their origin from this area. This area is highly romanticized for it's history, famous poets, courtesans, artistes, food and of course the Red Fort and Jama Masjid. Sadly, due to digitization and e - commerce, this place will slowly lose it's sheen, the crowd will obviously cease, both trading and residences. I visit this place atleast twice a year for shopping, to browse, it's not easy to move around but ohh so romantic. This is Delhi, Delhi - 110006 Now, I can't manage time and I wish I was a student again. Thank you Keezi Walks.

The amount of filth on the streets and lanes, the 'sacred' cows that just ambled around shitting everywhere, emaciated dogs, the numbers of beggars on the streets, as emaciated as the dogs, and of course the constant peeping of horns. Lastly, the smells - pungent and putrid. Having said all that, what an incredible city to visit!
