I am an Indian KZbinr living in England. In fact in India I live in this area of Delhi. Now position is worse than visible in this video. So much so that this market had to be shut immediately after reopening after lockdown. My question to keezi walks. Any special reason for selecting this site. On my KZbin channel Nomad Lamba generally I upload videos captured in England (cities and countryside). Nomad Lamba

I love these videos because they really show the feel of the city filmed, makes you feel like you´re there yourself. Lived in India for 10 months and this brings back all the (not always good) feelings of (trying to) walk around the city.

As a traveler, is it weird that I prefer to travel to cities like this than first class cities? I mean I'm not Indian but cities like thisis where I find more diversity. You know seeing the real thing. Combination of poor and rich people plus seeing their culture at its finest. I don't like cities that are too perfect, relaxing and expensive. I want a bit of a hassle lol.

India is making a lot of progress, but the country still has A LONG WAY TO GO before it can be compare to USA and China. One of the things that is hard to understand is that, it is a 2 TRILLION DOLLARS ECONOMY, and you see so many slums, lack of sanitations in so many areas etc. For a country with an economy of this size, it should of look much better.

lukebccb Its not about poor and rich but its the freedom you have in India. Indians don't really care about the information you provided and I cannot say that the info you gave is accurate or not , ofcourse not coz things have changed a lot in an year. We are everywhere in the world and at every levels richest and even poorest. Engineers , Doctors , Scientists , u name it. India is poor I agree but living condition here in far better than those countries you mentioned , million times better.

India is where you go if you want to learn what it means to let go and surrender. It is so chaotic, noisy, dirty, polluted, crowded and insane that nothing happens the way you expected it to happen. If you want things to go your way then you will soon be incredibly frustrated and suffer. If you don't want to suffer in India, you must let go of all resistance and all ideas of how things should be. You must learn how to completely surrender to the chaos and dirt and noise and insanity. That is the only way to survive there. And I think that that is the gift that india gives the world. The profound lesson of surrender and letting go. I really hope it won't become yet another terribly predictable capitalist country, though it seems to really want to...
@PurushNahiMahaPurush
@PurushNahiMahaPurush 5 жыл бұрын
"it seems to really want to" Yea..how dare that we want to get rid of poverty and all the noise pollution that affects mental health. Instead we should just remain chaotic so that foreigners visit us to fulfill their novel fantasies of experiencing chaos. The whole "letting it go" sounds all philosophical and all but when you are running a business and things don't go your way simply because its too chaotic on the road and that repairman cannot come today because of that, it is not good. It affects people's livelihood. No one...I repeat, NO ONE likes to live in this mess. The problem is that law enforcement is so pathetic that people are not disciplined and have zero civic sense.

Just like my favoured pastime: Walking around in unknown places.. Since one can't go everywhere your videos are a pleasant addition. However, the one from Delhi is somewhat misleading, since the parts of Delhi that have narrow alleys are few compared to those with open spaces. These parts of course are not as pleasant to walk along. Anyway, I enjoyed it and best regards.

Kees - I've begun to watch your videos and find them increasingly appealing... strangely addictive even (compliment). I'm wondering if I could ask a few questions here and there. For one thing, I assume you often purchase food & drink from street vendors, have you every become ill? Have you ever suffered with food poisoning or the like? Many thanks.

wow amazing how China and India is often compared to one another in newspapers/medias. But in term of development/progress China is way ahead of them. Chinese cities looks clean,neat and developed.. whereas this looks like a mess.

In my opinion New Delhi lacks improvement: 1. Very few road markings 2. Colorless cities 3. Ads still use ordinary boards instead of videotrons 4. Narrow sidewalks and not pedestarian friendly 5. Pollute 6. Far from modern words

New delhi lacks one thing only: Civilised people ask me imma delhiite jo kuchhhhh bhi dmrc delhi govt central govt banwati hai uska aissssssssssa defacement hota hai as if kisine personal dushmani nikali ho sabbbkuchhh deface kr dete hain barbad krte hain in a 100 ways. Aise mein maintenance cost is high and govt doesn't feel motivated to do infra development Either

By many travelers standards, NEW Delhi is precictably "stale" as previously stated, and OLD Delhi is of greater interest. Too many places are trying to duplicate the boring western streets, drenched in no-no's, thus devoid of human activity.

Thanks, ur arm must ache after holding in one posture for so long. I used to love walking around south Delhi and half way along the ring road for hours and hours. From ur video the place has just got denser and more congested since my last walkabout in 2010. The girls still prefer the rickshaws and not walking, partly cause they don't want to darken their complexion in the sun and partly cause of safety and they get starred at. On every street construction materials.
