I agree with one one of the comments below... I would like to think of the Oxford Union as a reputable platform for debate & interview - not just another chat show for any old Hollywood actor - (Baldwin, Pettyfer, Tyler?!etc) ....but Keegan is an exceptionally insightful, empathetic and articulate person, who alongside his partner Jordan Peele, is at the top of his game , so I rate and appreciate this discussion very much.

Its just really disappointing that the person asking the questions is so poor. She isnt engaging with him. He answers, she says "ok" and moves on. Its like she doesn't know who he is or what he is talking about. For such a prestigious event, I think the guests deserve better.

no, when someone goes off like that with all the knowledge and insights that they're providing, you try to get in the way as little as possible. If you get the interviewee to engage, it means they have something they want to say. Don't get in the way of someone when they're vocalizing their passion, because thats interviewing gold.

What he said with independent without big names is SOO TRUE. As a viewer, I look for the genuine and good story because a lot of films can become too saturated with events we’ve already seen. Obviously that’s dependent on the viewer but it’s why I always recommend creative make their own work first to know who they are artistically

food for thought, while I do appreciate the fact that an effort needs to be made to employ more people of color and women if we exclude men completely, then that in itself is discrimination, is there a way to find a perfect balance?

I really don't understand what's happening here, the oxford-union is looking more and more as mare talk-show, instead of a place for interesting intellectual presentations & issues, and thought provoking debates, is that became out of style, or is it me?? please do not run out of steam!
@cobraimploder7 жыл бұрын
I would urge you to watch the video and listen to his opinions. For fans of truly novel and creative dark comedy and satire, Jordan Peele and Keegan are nothing short of intellectuals. I, for one, found this fairly stimulating. As for the controversial people Oxford Union has been inviting lately, I'm rather glad they did, because I wanted to listen to their essential arguments without the unnecessary noise that usually surrounds them on public TV. The arguments were mostly shite, but I needed to hear them, nonetheless.

I appreciate your enthusiasm but what I've noticed from the last many presentations, most, if not all are for celebrities, of whom we're bombarded with their presence from morning to late night shows and every time in between. I've no doubt of this guest/star's ability to give intelligent witty entertaining talk, but my point is, these entertainers/celebrities has unlimited venues to feed their huge appetite to be in the public-eyes, however, I come to places like oxford union for the wit, but to meet people with views and opinions regarding bigger and wider issues to shed the light on more common or urging subjects, Mr. Key and so other stars are on several Late-night shows, and they all repeating themselves, same answers, same wit, and same jokes, more power to them!
@anantjani21877 жыл бұрын
Hass moh I agree with you on the point of celebrities bombarding their presence through late night shows (who hold way too much sway, in my opinion) and the internet in general, but I think it is worth pointing out that we need diversity in intellectual discourses, with people from a variety of backgrounds contributing. Perhaps we need people who are not solely from the academic background, because their voices have often not been heard. But I do find it strange that there are so many celebrities making it here. If they also get indie game developers or musicians or experimental films makers as well, alongside other artists, I'll be fully satisfied.
@denisolsem84186 жыл бұрын
Hass moh I don't think that late night shows count cause they're just that - shows. People watch them for entertainment, not intellectual enrichment (which, unfortunately, do not align for most people). So a late night show is not the best platform for an intelligent conversation.
