Keegan might not be flashy, but he’s one of the most composed players to come out of this draft. When the pressure hits, he doesn’t crack. He steps up and take on the big opportunity. If Murray is able to work on his weak spots of his game, in 4-5 years, hopefully still on the Kings, he’ll become an all-around threat. His game not being flashy is what makes him deadly
@rome81802 жыл бұрын
I believe that Keegan Murray had one of the four most efficient seasons in the last decade in college basketball. The other three guys on the list are Zion Williamson, Anthony Davis, and Brandon Clarke. I know that college stats don't always translate. But that level of high usage combined with high efficiency, especially from a young player, typically indicates a great prospect.
@colton6242 жыл бұрын
He seemed like the best fit for them and now having a full season of the Sabonis/Fox duo, he should fit in well. Would definitely be interested in hearing your thoughts on how Ivey fits in with Detroit

Monte couldn’t have picked a better fitting prospect! Keegan is going to be a straight beast in the nba. He’s a modern day forward that is highly skilled, I’m glad we didn’t waste our 1st round pick on “ high ceiling potential” that potential never seems to pan out. Bagley being the most obvious example right. Keegan is nba ready and has high upside like he could be a perennial all-star. GO KINGS!!!

People like Hoops Reference, Bleacher Report, Sporting Logistically basically called Sacramento stupid for this choice. Now since Summer League, people been d**k riding this dude when he was actually the RIGHT choice for the Kings anyways... The Kings had no choice to take Murray, cause 1.) Ivey didn't want to be there and 2.) If they would've drafted another guard, people would be bitching about, why did they draft another guard when they have. Mitchell, Fox and Divincenzo... 3.) They needed a three/four. The only loss to me was that they could've traded back to get Murray and get more assets, creating leverage, but the issue is are teams willing to give up assets? Especially seeing teams giving up all of their ducks in a row for short term gain, and that might be crippling franchises future long term.

Prophetic. Murray may be the best off ball shooter in NBA Rookie history. He's not moving as much as he could, because Huerter is getting so much of the action moving without the basketball. But Murray is already really similar to Huerter without the basketball. In fact, in the three games Huerter just missed, Murray was 5-10, 6-14 and 3-10 from deep, for a combined 14-34 (.411) in three games. His season average is (.407) on 6 attempts. In other words, he doubled his volume but still maintained his plus 40% efficiency. Indicating that if Huerter weren't on the team Murray wouldn't be taking 6 longballs a game and making 2.5, he'd be averaging 10+ attemps and be nailing 4 or 5 a game. No wonder he's about to smash the all-time Rookie record for deep splashes.

I understand people being upset about not picking ivey... but like aren't ivey and fox very similar in playstyle. Why would you want two of the same player on the same team.The kings picked to fit their team needs and not the best player available which I don't understand how people cant see.
@b.r32282 жыл бұрын
They also just got Davion Mitchell last year and Ivey didnt want to be picked by the kings.
@Randsel2 жыл бұрын
Two different philosophies I guess. The Kings for almost a decade drafted based on team need and they never got any stars so a lot of fans just want them to keep taking the best player available, regardless of fit, like the did with Davion last year. Now with Murray, it seems they went back to team need. I am liking the squad that is coming together
@YoBrand152 жыл бұрын
@@Randsel I really think keegan was the best player available. Ivey has more super star potential but there is absolutely no guarantee he gets there. And there's no way around it... Fox and ivey would not thrive together. That means you have to trade one of them, which you're gambling on thr fact that one or both of them can increase their value throughout the season, which might not happen if they play alongside each other. Would be a huge and really unnecessary risk imo.
