It's time to get the keel area really thick and solid and we're laminating 18 layers of fiberglass in one go!
We are a Swedish family who have sailed the world since 2016 while sharing the adventures here on KZbin. While we are still sailing, our main focus now a days is building RAN III, a 50 ft sailboat that we are building from scratch. We post a new episode every Friday so make sure to subscribe and hit the bell to be the first to know when there is a new episode!

Love the "Time Lapse sky" Malin, not sure of the back cracking at the end of your glassing day. Taking a break from the boat build, Johan jackhammers the concrete steps. The man is amazing! The cinematography is off the charts combined with a perfect sound track, makes for another episode we shall not forget. The farmhouse tile is perfect, just perfect. Thank you all three for making my week complete.

About fifteen years ago I bought a house in an agriculture and ranching area of Alberta. The very day I took possession of the house there was a very rich odour of manure. Needless to say this took me by surprise. I asked my neighbour what was that smell. His reply was west wind, feedlot, north wind meat packing plant. He went on to say, It’s the smell of money. ;-). As I’m sure it will be at your home the odour at mine was seasonal and I learned to accept it as the smell of money.

I have noticed the nice big doors that you must have built for the boat shed. If you have video footage of that build, I am sure that many people on this channel would appreciate seeing them built! Your videos are appreciated for more than just the boat; I love the picnics, garden, fields, wildlife, and tree house. Thanks for limiting the music; natures sounds and lack of it and the sounds of working tools and machinery could not be better, so thanks.

Thumbs up before even watching the video - one of the rear feat for me on youtube. Just cant get past the separate entrance door for guests. Scandinavians have been know as hospital folks as long as one looks at its own business. It is a Quite opposite from where I am originally from - Balkans where guest(s) were treated as family at any time. Nowadays living in USA (south) and the lifestyle is somewhere in between. Love this channel and can’t wait to see new episode.

That's a solid piece of lamination, looking forward to see the keel grid. I like that the keel design is a longish section with the hull, I hope it is a genersous width too. It makes it so much tougher and therefore safer.

A big job to have being completed, you be very careful lifting those cement pieces. They are a back killer & it happens so quick you won't even know until it's too late. ( very hard to fix or recover from). Enjoy your vids always, and I must say you will have a beautiful boat when completed, tks .

To more easily find fossils in slate or shale, consider getting a bricklayer’s/mason’s rock hammer, which has a chisel instead of a claw. Find a pile of slate or shale, and use the hammer’s chisel to split the slate or shale into thinner layers. Then inspect the two fresh faces for a fossil😀

It would have been even nicer to use the 2nd entrance to build a closed garden area where you can have a dining table or coffee area with some really nice plants and all walls made of glass, so that it's like being in the garden, except for the thing that you can stay there even when it's raining or windy and that you can control its climate as its a closed space. Not sure what the 2nd entrance led to on the inside of the house though, so you guys probably have your reasons to want to close it

Since we used a fast hardener the layers cured well before we had too much “wet” epoxy on top. Every layer took between 30-40 min to roll out, so 2-3 layers later that first layer was already solid. 😊 Cheers!
