I love how Penn and Teller are always so gentlemanly towards the contestants, unlike on the XFactor or other talent shows.

Thats probably due to the fact that they don't have to weed out the ppl without talent. Although they knew how the trick is done they still got to see it performed nearly perfectly.

They’re good at what they do, developed routine, pretty good stage presence, they stayed polite and professional (and I’m sure all those things have gotten even better the last 10 years)… nothing was wrong with this act at all, except that it wasn’t a good fit for the show. I’m not sure why the producers approved it, honestly. They’d have way more success on other shows and probably have (I haven’t checked yet)
@oz_jones Жыл бұрын
Because the premise of the show isnt really fooling Penn and Teller but to showcase the acts
@guillaumelauzon57110 күн бұрын
for real, nothing different or original from any "quick change" act. Both are below average dancers and their changeovers are executed at mediocre levels. Respect to Penn and Teller for being polite but this was boat cruise level magic and no idea how anyone from producers down thought this might fool anyone let alone the best in the business.

Some singers are good, and some not so good, just like the quick change artists. One singer said in his profile...I was bullied when I was younger. Guess what, I was too. I learned how to defend myself. Is it our sympathy he is looking for? I can't sing, but I might have half a chance to go to the next round after the panel watch my profile.

I don't see why someone has to have a skill to be able to critique someone else that is willingly trying to show off their skills on television. It's a ridiculous and false prerequisite. These performers were not magicians, as promised by the show's premise. Furthermore, everyone is entitled to an opinion of whether their performance was good. But I'll give you a hint: it wasn't.

@vgynylrecords6 жыл бұрын
Great dancing? I would love to agree with you cause its the best part of the act... but it's also kinda awkward and really, well... white. It pains me to say it cause they seem like really nice folks. These guys do throw alright shapes, but they are a bit rhythm-illiterate, so everything seems kinda jerky and off kilter with the music. I was waiting for the dancing to improve dramatically once the layers peeled away, and it did improve marginally but not enough to feel like I was watching trained dancers, or even naturally gifted ones. It felt like they were dancing AT the music rather than WITH it. It was a bit high school talent show. Still... a really good ad for Velcro!

Yes they were invited onto the show. But did certainly not food Pen and Teller and did not fool or entertain me either. And lastly, you mention card tricks? A good card magician of which many have appeared on the show, take years to practice their art. Years! We all know they are using slight of hand, but how well can they do it, is the question. Not being seen is the art. Just because they stand behind a cover, and change their clothes, so what?
