I had this problem and it's because we are still on face selection mode, so we can't select vertices to extrude them. Just press one to change it to vertex in edit mode, and we can continue on pressing e and x.

Great tutorial as always. But I can't seem to get that shadows in. Is there an extra setting for this? I played arout with allot of settings but can't get those shadows.

Hey Dimitri, shadows should generate themselves if you can render in cycles, but if you're using Eevee, make sure you turn on the "Ambient Occlusion" in your scene settings and play around with the distance option till you get a look you like. You could also try some HDRIs. Hope that helps, Keelan 😁☕

I wouldn't say completely different, but if you want something similar just playing around with your lights till you find something you like
