I'm convinced that there's no classic rock song you can't play. This is the first video of this pedal I've watched,and Robert Keeley has knocked it out of the park again. I'm probably going to have a full Keeley pedal board real soon.

I just bought this right while watching. I've been comparing double trackers with detuners most of the day. I'm not into classic rock, I actually just want to mess things up and make them eerie. And this "classic rock" maker just fits perfectly. Testament to how good it is to excel both sides of the spectrum. Wonderful video, can't wait to plug it in.

Thank you, Geoff Emerick (not mentioned) who basically invented a studio version of this for the Beatles when they took their power slide into studio as a canvas: called ADT (automatic dbl tracking). Messrs John and George almost immediately fell for it head first and wanted it on "everything"! "Let's slap some ADT on that ... even if it was an absurd or naïve to think it could always be used. John thought George and Geoff Emerick could work majik [sic; because everytime they threw a problem, Geoff and George they found a solution that blew John's mind.]

I love pedals that really pull off a useable set of functional sounds. Here this pedal is a chorus, a double tracker, a slap back echo, and a reverb all in one pedal !! That makes it a winner because this thing is one of those pedals that doesn't sound like a cliche' while at the same time it can shrink the size of your pedalboard a sizable amount. Many people burn a whole delay pedal just to have a slap back echo ready to use at all times. I am putting this in front of an Dunlop echoplex pedal and now I've got two delay pedals on my board if I want it.

I can't get this grin off my face after having watched a great sounding video of my favourite pedal, demonstrated by a guy I've never seen before (sorry, it's a big world), but who can obviously play a mean guitar. And what a guitar! If I ever have a guitar build I'd call Eric. These Smitty guitars are AWESOME!!! Unfortunately, I can't afford a Smitty, but I really neeeeeed to find a way to be able buy that 30 ms double tracker. I'm in love with that pedal. Question: these dip switches, on what settings are they when you buy one. Is it the setting you showed first? Cause that's how I prefer it. I absolutely loved the video, Brett! You're a joy to watch and you sound amazing. Thank you!

Trying to "somewhat" get a twin guitar sound to play some Judas Priest stuff and Thin Lizzy's Emerald. Don't want to use a looper, want to have a pedal pre-dialed for whatever song then flip it on when needed. Would this pedal do that or would a harmonizer pedal be better?
@Quicksilver_Cookie8 жыл бұрын
Well, harmonizer definitely provides more flexibility. Ultimately - they're not the same thing, and aren't really made for the same kind of job. However, there's really no rules in tone creation - if it sounds good IT IS good :)

It's just a short delay with some reverb, right? Stick with the mimiq for a 'true' doubling effect.

I'm looking at this pedal and come across your review. Brilliant job, it's given me a great insight into the pedal. Can I ask how you're hooking up to the 2 amps? I know it can take a trs cable, but how then do you then connect to the 2 amps if you don't mind me asking? Many thanks

Is the "dimension" sub-mode inspired by the Boss Dimension C? It does sound similar to my ears at the lower de-tuned settings (non-wobbling chorus). Either way great sounding pedal, this is definitely a game changer for me. I know theres plug-ins that do this really well but the fact that you can also use it in a live setting is where the value is imo.
@RobertKeeleyTV9 жыл бұрын
+LeF11 Yes, more inspired by name than anything, but yes I did take a look at that Boss design.

I can't be the only person that's interested to hear what it sounds like with two separate overdriven Amps left and right for a thick double tracked sounding rock sound. Something fairly heavy, some early Alice in Chains or something. Wondering how it would work out for single guitar player rock bands that are missing that two guitar player fullness. If it works I'd buy a spectate rig for it. But it's an expensive thing to do if it doesn't work.
@robertkeeley10898 жыл бұрын
+Paul Hart Of course it will work exactly how you want. It has a dry out and then a wet out that is just a small (30ms or less) delay of the original. Adding gain to it would not be an issue. It's not like you are adding gain after a delay pedal. You simply have two signals that you can consider both dry in fact, if that helps. The delay exists (in Double Tracker Pro Mode) between the channels, not in a single channel. Thanks! rk
@elespectro5 жыл бұрын
how come in double trackin pro mode when i run it thru thesplitter- two cords into a stereo channel on my mixer does it only come out one side?
@lance1346799 жыл бұрын
Weird that reverb only seems to come out of the right side in the first part of the demo. However, the sound seems incredibly high quality for a short delay/chorus/tape double tracker sim-type thing.
@RobertKeeleyTV9 жыл бұрын
+Lawrence Gillespie The Reverb only comes out one channel. The mix is Wet or Dry, or Wet/Dry blend and Dry. We wanted to preserve a dry analog output at all times. The "other" effect channel is the double tracker channel. This seems most correct for us.
@lance1346799 жыл бұрын
+Robert Keeley Makes sense. Interesting pedal, for sure.
@rolando05729 жыл бұрын
where in the chain do you recomed put it ..if i use a mult fx can i put it after the multi fx ?
@boonexy9 жыл бұрын
+rolando0572 You just have to think about how you want things to sound. Either you want to color the double-tracked signal, or you want to double-track your colored signal. Personally I would default to after your FX because in practice this is what would happen with real double tracking. Your effected signal would be double tracked, not the other way around. If you intend this to be a sort of weird chorus then you might want to consider ditching the multi-fx to have better control over order of effects.
@rolando05729 жыл бұрын

What all of these demo "wizards" and even the manufacturer's manual have all failed to mention (bar one blogger) is the fact that if you want to run two amps you need a TRS jack with a splitter cable..... this demo is based utilising two amps.... which is where it shines.
