why? what's your problem with that? it's part of the sport's atmosphere. in bjj you compete individually, but you can't train it alone. it's still a team sport in that sense.

@@kaibe5241 athletes are getting support and suggestions in boxing, in MMA... it doesn't seem to have broken those disciplines... why would jiu-jitsu be more like chess or snooker than a combat discipline? : ) and how would you enforce it in practice? throw the entire team out of the building, or have security watch all of them carefully, and impose penalties for shouting something? i don't quite get how "disallowing the teams to chime in" would even work. and at the end of the day, even the best suggestion means nothing if the athlete can't turn it into reality.

What match were you watching. KC had oh boy on the defense like 90% of the fight with his worm guard. Almost swept him like 3 or 4 times. Had him in a triangle to which his opponent ran out of bounds. Based on penalties and advantages, KC gets the win for sure. He was never really on the defensive and had worm guard the majority of the fight.
