@@francisco1513 Some single mothers would rather stay a single Mom because, sadly, in today's day n age you hear horror stories of step fathers molesting their step children and you just don't want to take that risk. Actually, I wish more single mothers waited for their kids to grow up, to start dating.

This was good to hear. I’ve been really depressed lately. I keep getting rejected when applying for jobs... I was feeling hopeless and scared for the future. BUT it’s not really the future I’m scared about, is it? The future has endless possibilities... it’s the present that has me bummed out! The present changes every second...

Your Dad meant well and cared enough to try...and he cared about your eternity. Too many don't. Why , i wonder are we afraid to talk about faith and eternity when it is essential. It is illogical not to. We love our kids and want the best for them for eternity, not just the now.. You are always preparing them for when you won't be there to help. I remember seeing a navy admiral in uniform weeping in front of everyone at church because his daughter had run away. Oddly, she was in the church cafeteria with her friends crying saying her father did not love her! Kids really cannot understand nor appreciate the huge sacrifices and aching love of a parent, often until too late, me included. Also, i had read Isaiah numerous times but never fully appreciated it from God's perspective until I was a broken hearted parent. Then i read it and understood. I wept for God's broken heart, too. I hope it won't be too late for you to appreciate his love and worry for you. Hugs

Thanks for this, Uncle Rob! Great reminder of how temporary we are. There really are lots of great songs that address time and perspective. One of my favorites is actually "Time" by Pink Floyd, although it's maybe a bit more stark. Ready for the copy/paste? Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way. Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town Waiting for someone or something to show you the way. Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain. You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today. And then one day you find ten years have got behind you. No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun. So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again. The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older, Shorter of breath and one day closer to death. Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time. Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The time is gone, the song is over, Thought I'd something more to say

My father was a selfish, angry drunk for my entire life and he died at age 64 (complications from cancer)never having apologized or making amends for his actions. I honestly cannot say that I miss him at all, what is there to miss? I grieve daily for the father I never had, one like you! You are only 10 yrs older than me but at my age now I still wish I had a father like you.
