Amazing to see more recognition being made towards our grand old Hoosier line. I love seeing stuff like this as I live right next to a stretch of the former Monon’s second division

I would alternate The diaphragms one long one short one long one short that way you could run on 0-72. Also does the atlas LED lighting mess with the DCS signal?

I have a set of these in Lackawanna and R&N. I run them on 072 with a few O54s in there. I put the long diaphragm on the front and short on the rear. Closed up the gap almost completely and allows it to clear the curves just fine. They really are great cars.

They made a mistake with the combine car; the interior is backwards, the baggage section should be ahead of the coach section. Yes I know that you could just simply turn the car around, but then everybody will be riding backwards.

for what it's worth - i've been very cavalier about using utility and serrated kitchen knives. just two or three days ago - i was sawing through several layers of duck tape - necessarily applying considerable sideways force. (i was attempting to separate two plastic cafeteria trays bound with the tape - tightly together - clam-shell style.) i was taken unawares when the serrated knife in my right hand cut through the last threads of duck tape - ALLOWING THE TRAYS TO BREAK FREE OF EACH OTHER - and the point of the suddenly unimpeded knife sprang forward and stabbed the palm of my left hand. (i should have foreseen THAT danger.) fortunately the cut was not too deep and with a good disinfectant and bandaging the wound closed up quickly with no inflammation. needless to say - i'm much more careful now about keeping my hand and torso out of harm's way.

Eric, I have a question if you put tiny magnets on the ends of the diaphragm. Would they hold diaphragms together?
@iandean71294 жыл бұрын
The only problem with that is magnets not being strong enough to actually connect or too strong where they don’t separate when uncoupling. I tried using magnets to make brake hoses and finding the perfect magnet for these kinds of things is really difficult

intermodalman123 It depends on if it’s proto 1, 2, or 3. If it’s Proto 2 or 3 I would pay that price for that engine. If it’s a proto 1 I wouldn’t get it.
