Awesome video. 3rd day on job with my city and learned how 2 do this, did over 2 thousand feet 1st day training on jetting. Being taught by one of the best at it.

I got this job but started at the bottom as a Labor. But they will train me, and pay for any certification i need like cdl, flagger, hazmat etc...

is it common practice for the city to clear a upper lateral with a water jet cleaner? Do you also clean out upper laterals? Is is also supposed to be vacuumed out when they do this? Thanks

city takes care of the city property, as in the main 8" line that runs in neighborhoods and different sized mainlines on normal streets. upper laterals, house sewer connections or any laterals connected to the mainline, the responsibility is the home owner or business owner. houses, from house foundation to street mainline; homeowner. same with businesses, foundation to mainline. city takes care of main line and city property only. private contractors can help you like, Pro Pipe.

Ok so a couple things about this. 1.) they should be wearing hard hats atleast 2.) double hearing protection is required within 25 ft of the operating truck and single within 50 ft

1) No hard hats aren't required. 2) No double hearing protection isn't required. Properly inserted ear plugs will provide just as much protection. Review your OSHA guidelines.
