Thanks for all the videos! Beginner here and looking for tutorials like this. Not that many people or learning groups around to teach this things. It's the good ol' jump in head first and see what stick approach I guess... What were your methods to becoming a guru?

First, thanks for the kind words. To answer your question, I'm almost entirely self-taught. I started out by taking a short, on-line, introductory Linux course from the now-defunct SpiderTools outfit. It was self-paced, and I finished what was supposed to be a six-week course in one week. At the end of that week, the owner of SpiderTools called me and asked if I'd like to work for him. I said, "I don't know, Mike. I'm just starting out, and I'm not sure that I'm ready for this." He said, "Oh, come on. I'd like for you to give it a try.". So, I did. I started out by writing training documentation, doing all the research myself. So basically, I learned the stuff myself, and then wrote about it. (Really, it's the best way to learn.)

Great vid! But why are you mining ETC?

First, thanks for the compliment. As to why I'm mining ETC, it's what the "whattomine" site currently recommends as the highest-yielding coin to mine. The difficulty level isn't near as high as it is for ETH, and I'm getting really good results so far.
