They eat through this stuff. I've used steel wool and Duct tape. Seems to be working atbthe moment

That's only a temporary fix. They will eventually chew through that. Steel wool and then the foam will work much better!

can i use this out around electrical wire? or ac wires that lead into my gargae with a big hole?

I have used steel wool & not Duct Tape - worse, really. The tape you use to seal down rugs, it's 2-sided. Very hard to work with, it sticks to everything. I've shoved in the SW, they actually kind of MOVED it aside. Now I've used this rug tape around the SW. They have not re-entered under my sink. All my food is sealed. You know what they ate?! A rough sponge! I couldn't believe it. And I do think they open cabinets at night, higher up on the walls, new cabinets, no holes, sealed them anyway. Surprise. Mouse Poop. They must be opening them from the front somehow. Honestly, I don't even want to see or picture that, thank you.

Something as simple as Cardboard has worked for me ironically

can the great stuff pest block be used outside?
@ambilaevus76072 жыл бұрын
The pest block works. I've been using it a lot since I found it. Should cover the lines with some sour apple dog chewing repellent or similiar bad tasting stuff..... Maybe toothpaste?

Thanks Ambil. I've had nothing but success using the Great Stuff Pest Block. You can wrap the plastic drain hose with copper mesh or steel wool near the hole before using the Pest Block as extra protection, but I've yet to have a mouse chew through the drain line once the pest block is in place. I guess if they were desperate and there was no other food in miles, maybe I could see them trying that, but usually they are pretty opportunistic, and just find somewhere else to eat once you seal up where they have been going, which hopefully is no longer my house!

wow it does seem that if you can do it, I can do it too!

I've used that before and it hardly works

Thanks for the feedback Mr Kenneth. I’ve been using it with rats and rodents for 10 years with great success. Make sure you are using the “pest block” version of great stuff since that one has the bitter tasting chemicals in it that rodents don’t like.

I've heard that copper wool will outlast the oxidization tendencies of steel wool. I mean: steel wool rusts, better use copper

This is a stupid video, it’s always the outside entry points that you need to be concerned with and address them. If you find the outside entry points, you solve your rodent problem.
@propertymanagementguy6619 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment but I respectfully disagree. Sure, if you can 100% find every outside entry point and easily seal them up first, that is ideal. Note other videos on my channel where I call that out. But even if you haven't been able to do that yet, there is still obvious value to sealing holes that keep them out of main living spaces and places where you store food. In this instance, we felt confident that we'd sealed every way out from around the dishwasher, but if they can get through that hole from behind the dishwasher into the other cabinetry, then they have that many more places to get out and into our food, which is a sanitary issue, hence the value in sealing such holes. Have a good day.

I got a mouse a couple years ago from my kids leaving the door open. Taking measures to block various access spots on the interior allowed my cat to more accurately take care of the matter. Also I have a dirt floor crawl space and they can tunnel in to the house from there. I have noise makers to keep themout of there; so far so good.

War pet please don't be dumb. Please please.

@@mrbojangles9841warpet is right! He’s sealing around dishwasher waterlines under a sink. The cabinet space under the sink maybe mice free. But what about the rest of the house. This only works in an apartment situation. Seal around sewer, water, gas and electrical lines.

I have this problem in a brand new house. Why don’t builders do that?? That’s unacceptable, it should be obvious that nobody wants to have insects inside.
