My favorite bluegrass song. Probably cuz its simple which is so addictive. I cant play anything but if i try it will definitely be a banjo and this song.

Yeah pick up a banjo sometime, it might just click with ya. its the most approachable stringed instrument in my book. If you pick it up and want more banjos let me know. I've made quite a few banjos for some of the good banjo folks on this platform.

Great song, performance and lesson! WoW! Amazing how you flip that banjo all around while keeping the song going! Yeah, Aaron Stevens is incredible too! You might like the 27 1/2" long necks better because you can tune WAY down and sing in a more comfortable key. It`s a game changer really. But your singing in this key sounded great to me!

I was only able to sing because it was down tuned a couple steps here. If you haven’t tried this yet, try setting up a standard or smaller scale, Banjo with Nylgut strings then you can reach super low tunings you never thought possible ha ha

I always seem to be 1 full or a 1/2 step down to almost, any tuning, if I’m singing. Glad I’m not alone in that. I recently started exploring open C tuning and I love it, but it’s been a strange one for me to get used to. Great job on your vids and playing. 👍🏼

Thank you much Michael! Standard pitch and my voice just don’t mix lol. Open C is a fun tuning especially for “whoop em up Cindy”

Great explanation, man. I tried to learn this a while back by watching Leeroy Troy play it over an over but couldn't quite piece together the melody. Definitely gonna watch more of your videos, man. We got real similar taste in the kinda tunes we find appealing. Gonna share this one and Boll Weevil at an open mic here next week. That other side of river from the riffle to the hole after the eddy's lookin' fishy, by the way.

Thank you much and no problem. Glad I could help. all I could do is study, Leroy Troy I didn’t have anyone to teach me. It’s a fun one to play at open mic just be wary of the Mic. The folks running the show get pretty upset if the banjo knocks down the mic.

But I'll pray for ya to have a smooth Christmas. I'm not looking forward to it either way. It's lost all meaning. Best of luck my friend! 🙏

Kyle I see you don’t put on all your tension hooks and it works fine?. I have another has a ton (~50) of tension hooks and tried to change the head and I can’t get them to fit/. Tension ring thing is bent. I can tell whoever did it before me had a time Lord bless them and me. Was thinking of just putting on maybe 12 of them instead of 50. Although I think it looks better with them on. Kinda frustrating

This Banjo pot is an original 1880s or 1890s Lyon and Healy and a lot of the old banjos had WAY too many hooks. Though they do look neat they’re just for show and not necessary. My personal problem is all those hooks makes it easier to catch on my shirt, especially when flipping the Banjo.
@kylewood4852 Жыл бұрын
You could just put one on then leave one or two of them off between each other. afterwards, you could fill those spots with a nut and a screw if you want
@Yallquietendown Жыл бұрын
@@kylewood4852 with bouts of patience and anger I was able to get every other hook on 😆. I think that’ll do 😆
