Glad to see S2J taking this new sponsorship so seriously, using reaction tech chases and getting results! Also that homie stock game 10 was nuts.

Aside from the astounding plays by s2j... HE GAVE A HOMMIE STOCK DURING A GRAND FINALS RESET AT 2-2. So much respect man, I couldn't do that.

s2j is quickly becoming one of my top favorite smash players. Not just for how entertaining it is to watch him play, but also for how great it feels to see him win or perform well. Watching someone so reserved and quiet climbing the ranks just feels great to see, and it's definitely a change of pace amongst the top players. When he wins he's never gonna be stomping around the stage crying like a pansy; he doesn't show it, but you just know that deep down, he feels fantastic after a great performance. Something about that resonates with me and makes me root for Johnny in any matchup. Great vid btw

He's becoming such a monster. Without getting into the whole 20GX argument, it's cool seeing Falcons placing higher recently.
@alexeonbel43048 жыл бұрын
That's because the meta for fox is being learned by so many. So there is a chance for the meta of the lower tier characters to adapt to the style of play.
@seanplaysmusic8 жыл бұрын
True. But even Wizzy 3-0ing Hbox was something I would have never expected.
@alexeonbel43048 жыл бұрын
seanplaysmusic Well that's simple. The reason hbox does so well is because he's extremely disciplined. Mang0 admits that himself. He's more disciplined than what most people would like. Wizzrobe understood that and decided to play even more disciplined. This threw hbox off guard, and he lost for it. No one likes to be patient. But that's the only way to consistently win against hbox.
@seanplaysmusic8 жыл бұрын
Yeah simple in theory, but I think you're oversimplifying how difficult it must be to remain patient and cool-headed. Regardless, I don't know why you're trying to justify why I shouldn't be impressed by the rise in Falcons. I just enjoy the high-level matches.
@alexeonbel43048 жыл бұрын
+seanplaysmusic Don't misunderstand me. I am saying that it's hard to play patient. That's why I said most players don't like to. It's a challenging thing for your mind to have to deal with. But nonetheless it is a simple step to win, specifically against hbox. I'm glad to see other high tier characters place well. You can be impressed by recent falcon play. I am too. But this was bound to happen in my opinion. Hence why I wasn't too surprised. All of the other players are constantly optimizing their characters that aren't fox. Hence why we're starting to see more diversity of characters in majors. Granted they're still high tiers but the majority weren't fox players.

I was there, all this was amazing. Not as amazing as when Eikelmann 3-1ed Johnny, but still.
@shiv6048 жыл бұрын
Eikelmann camping and s2j giving up wasn't that amazing tbh. From a spectators point of view I mean. Regardless Eikelmann should probably crack miom top 100 imo.
@hahaae3218 жыл бұрын
hes def top100 material, just was in a slump in 2015. let's not forget he's the man who took armada to last game in ceo 2014.
@jazaniac8 жыл бұрын
+shiv sixohfor how was Eikelmann camping? He played pretty aggressively, it's just that he plays ganon, so there's no way he's going to be able to beat a captain falcon player in terms of aggression. Please tell me you aren't seriously trying to invalidate his win here.
@jazaniac8 жыл бұрын
+hahaae321 oh, absolutely. I think he was 108th or something last year, just barely got snubbed. Plus now that his falco is starting to get good we might see some higher placings out of him, maybe even #1 on the Colorado PR (his falco secondary is basically entirely inspired by his desire to beat Syrox). Idk about him being on the top 100 this year though, he doesn't really travel to nationals anymore.
@shiv6048 жыл бұрын
Go back and watch the set. For a lot of it he was camping ledge and not approaching, while s2j did which cost him. Then watch losers finals and it's night and day. People in the community need to calm down when camping is brought up. He camped but he won, that's not invalidating to me. He played it smart so good for him.
