One thing that fascinates me is that barely no houseowner wants drainage grates infront of their garages. Something to upsell, but obviously ads cost.
@stevehamman44654 ай бұрын
If you have good pitch and water is running away from it. Its basically useless. You also need somewhere to run the drain water to. And your right,, it cost money! 😅
@Mikesxrs3004 ай бұрын
if its not pitching towards the garage why would you need it?
@perrrry4 ай бұрын
@@stevehamman4465 What I'm saying is that they rarely do new builds so the pitch would often be pretty bad with existing road / garage etc. I do agree, if the pitch is good it is nearly pointless..but also works as a sand trap if need be.
@jaredmiller70274 ай бұрын
You would be shocked at the price of those drainage grates that are rated to be driven over. Had to find my price spreadsheet where I just quoted someone a partial driveway replacement because the asphalt guys created a hump about 10ft out from the garage doors trapping water right in front of the garage. My suppliers both quoted me around $90 a ft for 4" grate drain with cast iron grates(suitable for all non commercial vehicles) . And that's not the installed price. My customer opted out from the grates and we played with pitch. Only typed this u as an example on why you don't see too many grates in front of garages.

As a special inspector of 10+ years. My biggest gripe is lifting the bar. Invest in some cheap plastic chairs or even use broken up block. Rebar doesn’t do any good if it’s laying in the ground. With WWF pulling the mats up are more common. But with rebar there should be chairs.
