We cannot afford an RV but we can afford a tent! So this year, my husband and I have 3 weeks vacation and are camping our way from Ontario, Canada, through the Prairies and onto the west coast to B.C. We, by the way, are in our sixties. Our way of keeping our daydream. Thanks for your inspiring videos!

Thanks again for sharing the vision to do what you love, and to be doing it as well as you can with what you have. My wife Heather and I took our first trip last week to Lake Roosevelt (River Rue RV Park) near Wilber, WA. Made a bunch of mistakes (didn't get the water hooked up correctly, had water everywhere except inside our 2013 Keystone Montana, and had difficulty turning the switches on our control board to the right positions), but everything turned out extremely well with the help of a few more experienced RVers in the park. Our dogs loved it, and we saw lots of great wildlife (bald eagle, deer, and wild hares). Just 3 days away, but a real fun trip! This is just the beginning for us after downsizing from a big house to a small one, with room to park the truck (2011 Ram 2500) and 5th wheel. Well, thanks again, and we hope and pray for you guys as often as you come to mind, like today! Blessings, Bob

Mike and Mary Beth here. Love, love, love your videos. Why do we love them? Because of a vast number of things, wonderful family, your enthusiasm, positive energy, sense of adventure, information and learning, much more. Your spirit rocks! We moved to LA area 5 weeks ago and picked up a travel trailer when we got here from Texas. Living full time until we find a home to purchase. Because of your videos, I am going to document our adventure, although not as competent as your daughter in her video prowess...lol. Keep on trucking and we will watch every one of your videos. thank you and God Bless. Mike

My wife and I have been following your family journey and it inspired us to fulfill our dream. We left Wisconsin January 25 and headed to San Clemente State Beach. Along the way we visited Sedona, the Grand Canyon and decided to continue the journey across the country to make it a coast to coast rv trip. We have sunset pictures of the Pacific Ocean from San Clemente and sunrise on the Atlantic at Hilton Head South Carolina. Although not fulltime we enjoyed 64 days in our travel trailer, stayed in 18 rv parks and put on 7400 miles before we returned home to Wisconsin. We met wonderful people along the way and experienced life. Thanks for the inspiration.

Inspiring Philosophy for life! My grandkids just showed me KZbin about a month ago and you were the first video I watched. They said look grandma it's what you did when you found out you were so sick. 3 years ago we bought a fifth wheel and we don't full time because of my health but we do 15 days in March with the grandkids and 15 days in June and 15 days in July and 15 days in August at our state parks here in Texas. And I agree they've been the greatest vacations of my life. God bless you and your travels.

KYD supports my own philosophy. I work to live, not living to work. I may not have much of a retirement, but we take 3 week summer National Parks vacation with my 3 boys and a few other shorter vacations. We don't want to be the shoulda coulda, we are being the I DID! Keep it going KYD!

About 10 years ago my wife and I started pursuing RVing. We have rented C class motor homes, A class motor homes and all were great times with our grandkids. But to own has always been in our hearts. We work hard as financial planners and christian ministries. It seems that every time we come close to purchasing a rv something comes in the way. But recently, about 3 months ago we purchased a 27 foot EVO Travel Trailer made by Forest River. Let the journey begin. Thank you all for the info, great tips and going before us on the path of a more comprehensive family plan of enjoying life.

You guys seriously are my weekly reminder of what I want to do with my life. It's going to take a few more years (I have a goal of getting my business successful so I can work full-time on the road in the next two years!) It's a lofty goal, but I believe in it! You guys honestly inspire me to NOT give up. I've been working towards this goal for a decade now, but life isn't always easy, and often times things don't work out the way you want the to, but eventually things do work out. I'll keep praying for better luck and more success for me, and I'll keep watching you guys as my inspiration! Also, I'm so buying that shirt! I won't be going too far from Minnesota this summer, but I'll take you to a few of my favorite lakes in the t-shirt!

You guys deserve each and every one of your subs. Congratulations! “Experiences over things” is perfect! Your kids are going to have SO many memories of their experiences. I also like “Documenting your life amplifies your experiences.” My husband and I are frequent travelers (mostly overseas), and I started making vlogs of our travels a little over a year ago. I can’t tell you how glad I am that I did. I wish I’d started sooner, but the ones I have video of are so much fun to go back and look at to relive those travels, plus, when we’re long gone, our kids and grandkids will have those memories of us.

We finally did it! We have been planning and following you for 2 years and have now both retired, sold our home in Arizona and most of our possessions. We bought a class A and are on the way. We will be spending most of the summer in Utah as our daughter just had twins so rocking babies awhile, then off we go next stop Idaho and then into the Redwood forest. This fall our plan is to go to Florida where we have another daughter. We will tour there throughout the winter then we will head up the East coast. Making many many stops along the way. Thank you so much for the inspiration. We just love you guys and your sweet family! Narshel & Doraleen Day (#Daytrippin)

Watching your videos awakened a dream from my childhood. On our 3 month road trips with my little brother and older sister, I would watch my dad drive, see all the truckers going by, take in the landscape of this great country and pretend that I was driving, and that was my life. I got close when I became a truck driver, but I always wanted to go where I want to, on my schedule instead of where I was told to on someone else's schedule. All I need now is to find a way to maintain it financially. I guess a change in career is in order...

Hi Tricia, Marc & family, Wow, that was an emotional video.(Deep, very well done.) Maybe because we're on the cusp of making this a reality in our lives. Just started documenting our journey and we're starting with documenting repairing and preparing our 10 year old RV and we don't actually hit the road till Mayish of 2019. So so anxious to start making memories. We got our name RVing Our Faithful Life (ROFL) Ha, so we can have a lot of fun with that. Our dream is to travel around the country doing random acts of kindness for strangers and sharing our faith as we go. You have encouraged us to put family above things and just do it. Congrats on 100,000 subscribers, proud to be one of them. Being a fairly new subscriber maybe I was that momentous 100,000th. Hope to actually meet you in person sometime. Bless and be blessed, Mary ROFL

I very much appreciate the reminders of so many great quote-worthy statements. Most of them I managed to write down the first time I heard them in your videos. I keep my “notes of quotes” stuck near the computer as a reminder of a goal. Your enthusiasm has influenced me so much that I recently pulled the trigger on my first RV. The whole notion about it being better to start experiencing life now rather than waiting for "someday" resonated to the point of motivation… No… I really don’t have to wait until I have all the money I want; No, I really don’t need to wait for the perfect truck; No, I don’t need the perfect toy hauler; And, I don’t need to wait until I know *exactly* what I need for amenities… Because, as a nod to the lesson I heard in an early video about getting started, no matter what I think I want or need, it will change. I really won’t know until I start doing it. So now, I am unapologetically an official RV’r… careening down the road, sweeping side-to-side with every passing truck and modest breeze, a white-knuckled grip tenaciously navigating a too-narrow lane, and still grinning from ear to ear. I decided, based on your early videos, I would use the truck I have and simply turn it into a learning experience. Here’s a couple things I’ve learned in the few short weeks of participation: 1) uhm-yeah… just ‘cuz the numbers work on paper doesn’t mean the little truck can pull the grade out of Camp Verde with any more velocity than my grandmother and her walker. So, I must always pack patience before departure. 2) On that same inaugural haul (bringing the RV from Sedona to Scottsdale), I learned it might be best to get off the road if high winds are anticipated from fast approaching storms, especially when crossing the plateau by Sunset Point, and especially when said RV outweighs tow vehicle. Wind against the side of a big trailer will out-steer sweaty palms clamped to a wheel. 3) There is no substitute for cubic inches and big brakes. 4) Don’t skimp on tires. 5) Laser heat guns, TPMS’s, and rearview cameras are important safety equipment. Get them, and use them soon and often. 6) Don’t turn off the refrigerator during travel, in spite of many folks suggesting otherwise. They probably don’t live in the desert and realize how fast things heat up. 7) While on the topic of the ‘frig, don’t put fruit that is prone to bruises in the bottom drawer of the frig unless it is packed solid to prevent items from rolling around. And especially don’t put soft fruit in there with “bully” fruit, those inclined to pummel the pathetically whimpy fruit for nothing more than their lunch money, leaving them looking like they did three rounds with Mike Tyson. Anyway, you get the idea… I learned lots, and lots more to learn. Thank you for all the great tips you’ve provided me, and the inspiration to just get something and start learning. Sincerely, Bill

Love your videos. They are so inspiring. You are so right about starting with whatever you have and just get out there and explore. We started rving about 7 years ago. We started with an older rv and in the last 7 years we have gone through three. We finally upgrade to a class C and we are loving it. We don’t do full time, but that’s the plan when time and resource permits. We go rving whenever possible during the weekends and holiday. We are planning for a 9 day rving trip from Sacramento to Oregon and to Seattle in July. I will definitely have to review your videos for campsites and places to visit. Keep up the awesome videos.

You two are our new Chip and Joanna Gains! My husband and I love watching and learning. My husband just finished writing his first book! We are older parents and really feel the tug on our hearts to get out on the road with him to promote his book. We have 2 kids a 11yr old and an 8yr old. We are planing to homeschool ( or as my kids call it RV school) for the very first time ever! We have a 30 ft trailer already but we will have to upgrade our truck to get us anywhere further than the 1 hr trips we take now. If money was not an issue would you have started out in a classA, class C or a 5th wheel? I love the idea of a bunkhouse bedroom for the kids and with the motor home we would loose that. Now that you moved up to Grand Ginger is that a space you can’t live without?
@KeepYourDaydream
@KeepYourDaydream 6 жыл бұрын
Wow. Congrats. That sounds like a fun trip. Just like boats, there are two costs with RV's. The cost to buy it and the cost to run it. I don't like to fix stuff and Class A's have more systems and more expensive repairs. Trucks have proven to be reliable and trailers do have issues, but most of the time they are non-critical issues. Meaning, you keep going and can address it later. For these reasons, I'm partial to towable RVs, but that's still considering money. If money was not a consideration, I'd get a Freightliner Super C. Danaquest or SportTruckRV. If it was a Class A, I'd get a Tiffin. Hope that helps!

Congratulations! What a milestone. Your family has been and is, as you say, an inspiration. You shared some great insights for life, and we live currently at a time when what you are doing is even possible. I think back to the 60s when we took our 13 ft trailer from Colorado to Montana, and remember the adventures, but we did not have computers, drones, GPS, rv parks, cell phones, etc. Heck even videos where really primitive :-) KOA was still small (the first one was in Billings) but the places you go and see, the memories you create last a lifetime. You are able to document your journeys as we never have before. Plus you have the attitude and personalities to share and entertain at the same time. Happy travels.

Great cause, hope you make your goal! I have loved camping(tent) forever. My wife not. Last summer my then 12 year old daughter and I spent 3 weeks out in Co. camping and MTBing( a passion for both of us). After we came back with tons of stories my wife and younger 2 daughters started thinking they didn't want to miss out next time. Wife still not wanting to tent camp started talking campers. I had been watching and talking about your channel for awhile so I think it was sinking in. We went to a RV show. Decide Because of $$ we would look for a used pop-up. First trip this past weekend in the pop-up to a MTB race, that my now 13 year old was in , was a blast. We all loved the pop-up and I think this will be the beginning of many adventures for our family. My end goal/hope/dream is to do what you do but with allot more MTBing along with all the great fun stuff you do. My 10 year old is starting to get into the MTBing also.

Simply.... Beautiful words from amazing people! I can only imagine how many people have been inspired to take action to improve their lives by doing more now! The phrase "the more you do, the more you can do" is so very true. Sitting around doing nothing can make you feel tired. Where as getting up and maintaining a level of activity will keep you going. Not only will your physical health improve, but your mental health improves as well. Physically active individuals sleep better too. Good sleep is also key to vitality and health. Cheers from Seattle!

We extended our initial contract because there were so many more places to visit in Europe. When we come back to the states we will have visited 25 different European countries. Returning to US to retire early and see if RV living is for us. Thank you for the time you spend documenting your travels and sharing your adventures! You have inspired me to get out there and live and explore! Thank you & safe travels!!!

Found a used 2018 Grand Design that was in our budget and had our first trial run this week at Stone Mountain State Park in NC. We have been watching you guys for over a year now and you inspired us to "take the plunge"! Funny thing happened when we pulled into the park looking for our campsite. My truck and rig looks almost exactly like yours (color, make and size). Some folks with a similar Grand Design saw us and started waving like mad and we of course waved back smiling! They must have been disappointed but when my wife and I started talking about the great reception we knew it had to be more than just a really friendly family. Loved the location even though they only have 2 full hook up sites. Had a great time and met some super nice people.

KYD, this is your video that sucked me in!! I stumbled onto your channel 3-4 weeks ago watching “Towing with a 1/2 ton truck” (our family recently downsized to a trailer from a Class A). KZbin played this video next and I was hooked! I’m now through season 3 and looking forward to the rest. Love your family, your energy and your videos; thanks for sharing!

We are currently spending the month of April in Mexico Beach, Florida in our new travel trailer. I thought my partner was crazy last year when she said she wanted to book a month long vacation at the camping/RV Park. It was the inspiration from your videos that prompted her to do now what we had planned to do later when we retired. Needless to say she convinced me to “dance in the rain” and I am so happy I agreed. Thank you for documenting your journey and sharing it with us.

Great video. Congrats on 100K. Our shirts are ordered, now the waiting begins. While we’re not full timers, yet, your words about getting out there are so motivating. Last Spring we bought a ‘previously owned’ motorhome and go. We’re even going out this week, in our own county. It a Camp/ Work kind of thing, right next to a beautiful lake.

Wow! All of the inspirational quotes were beyond inspirational - fantastic! And so true. We have known so many people who were going to go cruising on their boats when they retired and then they got sick or something happened and their dreams died. Which is what we went twice and then went back to work! So great you have made a difference and have inspired so many.

Just ordered 2 T-Shirts, can't wait to sport them around. You're our inspiration. We went with your advice on so many things. We begin our fulltime journey this summer. June 1st is our start date. We have started early on the house and property. Things have started moving fast, we have begun living in the Rig out in the driveway. Our first destination is the Washington/Oregon area. We will be heading North from KC to North Dakota, then across Montana to Spokane and work our way towards Seattle and then south. It would be very cool if we ran into you on your way to Alaska. Safe Travels.

Congrats on hitting the 100,000 viewers milestone. Will KZbin give you a gold plaque? My advice for looking under the hood - Look for as long as you can stand it. Just be sure you don’t kick the tires after closing the hood. You are so right about getting out and living your dreams before it’s too late. A quad bypass lit a fire under me to get on with living. I’m watching my youngest grandkid after school and dreaming about taking off when he turns 11 in 2019. Until then I plan to visit a number of National Parks & Monuments this summer while the grandson is in the boys & girls club for the summer. I’ve got the senior pass & reservations. Your video at Arches is what got me planning this trip. Thank you, so very much.

Just ordered our #keepyourdaydream #summertoremember shirts.. we have been planning for over two years to get into full time RVing. On June 16th we will fly from Hawaii to Oklahoma and start that dream... with the help of our parents, the F250 has been dropped off at various shops to have hitches and bags installed, engine checked and breaks replaced. As soon as we land we will hit the road to go negotiate the purchase of our 5th wheel. We have two Dealers competing for our business so a good deal should unfold. We are so excited that you guys have the T-Shirt campaign coming out now, because 2018 will be a summer to remember and the Teen outreach is just an amazing program. That we have thought about purchasing land and building facilities on in Oklahoma so I can get behind what you guys are about! Safe travels!

My goodness! This is the best video yet! I look forward to Sunday evenings and wait anxiously for each new video to upload. I have been following your travels since I saw that you drove through my town of Navojoa (it's kind of easy to miss), and have watched every season now. You are very inspirational people. You guys are right: It's all about the experiences and the memories, not the stuff you accumulate. I would like to document my trips, but I have to invite my nephew on vacation, so he can teach me how to do it. I have gotten to the age where it's hard for me to pick up new technologies... Keep on keeping your daydream!!!
