I’m sure that I am way late to this conversation. But you will enjoy the steps that mount over the tires to help you get to the engine. So much safer than buckets. Steps have a tendency to slide also. If you get a the wrong angle.

Its confusing when going to buy it cause it ask if u want the Billet Pro Series check valve? Or if u want the Billet one way crankase breather? Did u get all that?

UPR is really the best. They will last longer, catch more or and perform better for your PCV system than those other cheap ass cans. Glad you liked the video and the UPR can!

What about the other hose from the other valve cover that also goes to the intake?
@KnightsGarage10 ай бұрын
That side sucks fresh air from the intake tube into the engine the direction of airflow dictates there shouldn’t be any oil caught there. Only thing you would get on that side is splash back maybe from the valve train but it’s pulling air from the intake into the crank case so I don’t believe it’s needed.

Did you ever tow with it? I had one on my 2019 and it worked great until I towed a heavy trailer. I got 150 miles down the road and had oil dripping off the hitch, trailer, and all under the truck chassis. Had lost 2-3 quarts in that 150 miles. Disconnected it and hooked up the factory hoses again and issue solved. Prior to that, just driving around town and some highway all with no trailer, this catch can worked quite well. UPR was no help when I contacted them so I'm stuck with a very expensive system now sitting in a cardboard box.
@KnightsGarage3 жыл бұрын
I have not but that makes no sense. I can think of no reason of why that could have happened other than maybe the check valve being bad keeping it from being able to properly vent the gas is from the crank case. Otherwise there’s no reason that a catch can of any manufacture would cause that. Towing with it really changes nothing it’s either seeing vacuum or it’s not Towing a heavy load does not change that.

Yes. I actually have this can I can sell you if you are interested. Message me on my Knights garage Facebook page if so.

I didn’t notice anything I’ve never had a problem with a UPR Can. That’s not to say that a problem couldn’t happen because some parts are mass-produced but I’ve never had one and I hear very little negative.

@s2k4422 жыл бұрын
@@KnightsGarage why did you sell the truck? Is there any reason to go with their pro setup?
@KnightsGarage2 жыл бұрын
@@s2k442 I sold it because it was in the service department more than my garage. DRL turning purple multiple times, two trips for the HUD not working (had a part on back order when I sold it), radio randomly shutting off while driving, and i was afraid i would drop a lifter everytime i drove it. Pair that with the older looking interior and the fact I was able to my about 13k when i sold it and she was gone.
@s2k4422 жыл бұрын
@@KnightsGarage I completely understand. I am thinking about a 2020 denali with 10,000miles that already has the factory cat back exhaust option from the dealer. Yes the lifter issue maybe a problem but not every truck has that problem. I guess its luck of the draw. Definitely want the catch can to help prevent GDI valve fouling issue. Pulsar AFM delete also would be on the list. Stopping lifters from even engaging can only help I would think. Then my head waffles back and forth with a ram limited with 5.7 non GDI but I just like the denali better. Sorry you had so many problems. What do you have now?
@KnightsGarage2 жыл бұрын
The AFM being disabled through programming will not help. There are a boatload of people that I’ve had a lifter failures happen that had the AFM disabled since day pretty much, or at least had a disabled when the lifters collapsed. It’s a internal physical problem with the lifters themselves, and only taking those lifters out and replacing them will solve the issue. You are correct, not every truck is effected but an overwhelming majority of the 2020 and 2021 and even some 2022s are effected. Dealers couldn’t even keep up with repairs. I have a 2022 Explorer ST now.

Watched your video to see what lines to take off, but didn't want to pay so much for an overpriced oil container, so I went cheaper and got one off amazon for $25.00. There's no reason this can should run $200. It's ridiculous. I picked up a 2021 GMC 1500 AT4 also and now have 550 miles on it so figured I should get this on sooner rather than later.

Nice job, does this void the factory warranty at all? I have a 2019 6.2L SLT with 17k miles i'd love to put one of these on mine. Thanks
@KnightsGarage3 жыл бұрын
That just depends on your dealership and if they are cool or they’re jackasses that don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground. On another note nothing can “void” your factory warranty. They can only deny certain warranty claims because of modifications to the vehicle. But the Ketchikan does nothing to harm the vehicle they can deny a warranty claim because you put different tires on it and then what came on it is that gonna keep you from buying tires?
