It's well over-simplified but the whole fcsb/ steaua thing could be resumed like this: The army saw an opportunity to milk some cash from fcsb's owner (Becali) to buy the team's history prior to 2000, but Becali just didn't want to pay them anything. They went to court and eventually the two teams were formed: Steaua (which is the army's club, in the 2nd division), and the new fcsb. A lot of people still say that the real Steaua is fcsb because if they weren't being relatively succesful (for a Romanian club at the time, anyway) after Becali's takeover of the club, the army would not have been interested to milk the cash out of Becali. The scums saw an opportunity for easy money but Becali wasn't gonna give it.

Steaua Bucharest is in the first league, it has never relegated, continuity is the first place. It will all be solved at some point, it's hard to fight the state, it's hard to win as a private against the system. That team set up in 2016 by the Romanian Ministry of Defense cannot be Steaua.

These matches are more relaxed now, begining of 2000 every derby like this would be stopped every 10 minutes for an incident. There was a time when every away end between these 2 teams would end up without chairs and fences, even on fire. I`m not supporting that violence, because the stadium is for every fan not just for the ultras, but the rivalry is what makes these games interesting. I`m happy you shared and enjoyed the Romanian experience. Also, very brave of you to attend the matches next to the ultras end. As an advice for future, if you travelling to Eastern Europe and other ''hot spots'' for games, be very careful where you point the camera at. It would also help you if you would get in touch with someone before , just to let the others know what your intentions are.
