Bimacs are a beautiful Anthias they were hard to come by over the past 10 years or so in Aust. I would say they are one of the easier species to keep along with Lyretails, stocky and cooperi. The tend to be a lot more boisterous/aggressive than others like dispars. The harder to keep anthias like Ventralis and Tukas would require several feedings at least until the adjust to aquarium life. The reason for anthias needing several feeds is they have small stomachs and use all their energy quickly staying out in the water column.

Hey Ryan, what are your experiences with Borbonius Anthias? :)
@rjcameron873 жыл бұрын
@@AbsoluteZero6714 very hardy and pretty aggressive as an anthias when established. I had 1 for a couple years survived ich twice and was territorial would even take on tangs and angelfish much larger than it.

@@rjcameron87 Hey thanks for sharing your experience. Was it a big one when you got it? How many years did it last? How big is your tank?
@rjcameron873 жыл бұрын
@@AbsoluteZero6714 it’s was only small when I got it. About 2 years from memory I lost it with along with a lot of other fish after a flat worm treatment and my oxygen level dropped significantly. Tank was 6 foot and had I not done the flat worm treatment I think it would have still been alive :(

nice, i've had my 4 lyretails for only 3 months i used to feed my tank twice a day but due to the lack of piscine energetics frozen food i now feed my tank 3 times half a cube and 5-10 pellets. the pellets usually just once or twice coz my anthias dont eat pellets even when frozen yet. my clowns and pajamas do. i didn't get my anthias to eat pellets coz i didn't wanna qt 4 of them in a 10g for too long but mostly coz i didn't expect not being able to buy my preferred food for my carnivores :(

They’re called Twin Spot Anthias or Bimacs (Pseudanthias Bimaculatus). :) Everything just HAS to be different down under, eh? :) But beautiful fish! Personally I like the Borbonius Anthias. :)

@@SimpleAquariumsLauren Thanks! I might go a bit smaller than that, maybe 270-290 gallons but not much smaller. :) It will ideally be 2.4 meters or 8 feet long! :) Good luck as always to your tank!
