"I'm getting chickens and no one's gonna talk me out of it"... Exactly this 🤣 talked my partner round to the idea yesterday, he spent the afternoon digging the garden up and moving stuff to accommodate a coop and run 😂 can't wait

The noise for me actually is reassuring, I would like to know when they’re startled and if something is trying to get at them, that way I can send my dog out to protect them. I thinking about getting some hatching eggs on eBay and hatching our own chicks. They’re a LOT less expensive that way, and you can get some really beautiful breeds

Nice video chickens are noisy but I grew up with a cuckoo clock which was noisy as well so I don’t mind if one of my chickens starts screaming

i like to use the rescue chickens and make a donation it just feels better giving them a better quality of life, an extended life to free range plus fresh eggs are always a happy bonus

Please in your next blog do discuss about the affects on neighbours. Not to place them near neighbours boundaries

Great video, well done. One point I would add to your five is that every chicken will die. Many will need to be dispatched by their owner. If you can't bring yourself to do this, its worth thinking about what you will do with a suffering bird.

+English Country Life This is a very valid point....and one I nearly put in but I wasn't sure if people were ready!! Worth noting though guys....I've had to dispatch one of my hens, I've also had a little pekin die on my and one of my hatchlings at only 3 weeks old....

How exactly are you guys 'dispatching' these chickens?

Hey, great video! Do you have advice on how to protect your chickens from foxes. We have a couple of foxes that love lounging in our garden.

@olliecampbell76544 жыл бұрын
Build a protective run and a protective coop with strong materials and then the fox shouldn’t get in :)

I’m toying with the idea of getting ex battery hens. Never kept chickens before so I’m trying to find out all I can. They’ll be on an elopement, where several owner have chickens so I might get good advice.

Just a little suggestion... have some footage of your chickens with you narrating. Cute as you are, not interested in watching a video of you in your bedroom.

One feeder for seven ? Should be at least three. Chickens should always free range UNLESS on lockdown IE birdflu. Cleaning out is daily, why haven't you mentioned this due to bacteria ? Need much more info !

So basically you punish your chickens for being chickens whilst also taking their eggs? Entitlement 101. Its not the chickens fault you like your garden to comply to your rules.
@RR-vg5hg5 жыл бұрын
I got chickens they are not noisy, dogs are much much worse noise wise

Can you not just take the chickens to the vets if they need to be put down. Don’t want to have to dispatch them.
