On the misting, keep in mind your in Florida so your humidity is way higher to begin with. In Colorado or other very low humidity areas of the country, if you put a screen in the top it is going to dry out in an hour or two.

No they shouldn't do but some cases have done so you shouldn't be too worried if they do but I would advise giving slightly more food if he does so

if you really wanna use a substrate, I'd use sphagnum moss topped with clean leaf litter and always use isopods and spring tails. if not just use paper towels, it's easier for beginners. look up bioactive vicarious on serpadesign's channel.

Hey tiki! How’s it going today? I’ve just had my first crested hatchling today and i was wondering how active they should be at birth. My baby only moved once since i discovered it this morning. Is 70-72 an okay temperature for geckos? I hear differently from so many sites, videos, etc. My house is at 70 and to turn the entire house up to 75 that'd be a huge monthly bill

musicwithkelsey I use heat tapes and keep mine at 75-77 and it goes great. They are fully planted bio active so lots of places to hide during the day. That way you don’t have to turn up the heat in the whole house haha.

I house babies in small shoebox sterilite containers or small critter keepers and move them to a 12x12x18 when they are about 15g. You can move them into an 18x18x18 when they are around 40g but they can live comfortably in a 12x12x18 their whole lives..

I had big crested gecko and now I have a small one. I do not know how to house a small. He is in a ten gallon with a Pangea diet. Also, just some add on info, Crested gecko babies can die from ingesting just a little bit of substrate. Must use paper towel!!!

Hey my friend bred her geckos and we aren't sure if she's actually pregnant or not, the male was put in with her 3 nights with breaks between each night because my friend didn't want to overwhelm the female because it's her first breeding. What are the chances that she is pregnant, her weight was steadily gaining and she got to 60 grams but it wavers every now and then, i believe she is 57 grams now and she hasn't laid any eggs yet and it's been a little over a month since the breeding. She isn't willing to risk putting them together again because on the third breeding attempt her male gecko had a hemipenis prolapse and she rushed him to the hospital to get a $463 hemipenis amputation. So she doesn't want to risk it. I have no idea why i'm giving some long story but that's all the info. What would you guess the chances of her laying fertile eggs are?
